How to use all img files from other domain?

Hello,

can i use all images from my /img folder from external domain?

Now it is like this: mydomain.com/img/404.gif

How to do it like this: img.mydomain.com/404.gif

If i change one image in tpl files it working, but can i do this generally for all pictures?

Under Advanced Settings -> Performance you can set Mediaservers. If I remember well this is the place to do this. But it is too long ago for me to remember the details.
