(SOLVED) First installation - help please - cant see cart or my account as a costumer?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just instaled my first prestashop, in my first ever web hosting experience to complement my mother´s material shop, it have been a painless process but...

As a costumer in the front office when I try to access the cart (I can add products to it) or my account (in this case to create one) the browser says that it cant find the page ????

I searched the guide and in the back office but I dont see anything that can help me.

Could someone help me?

Thanks.

(SOLVED - the pages that couldnt be find has the https kind, because I had enabled SSL in the Back Office, but the hosting services wanst ready for it, so I disabled it and it seems to be working now)

if you can share your URL, we can help a check.

Will this be the case that you enabled "Friendly URL" function, but forgot to generate .htaccess file?

Sorry, here it is

http://www.linhasefantasias.com (there is a single product in "retrosaria" just for testing purposes, I just started doing it but I already failed in the very first test :) )

I am almost sure that I did both of those things but, to be honest, I am inexperienced, so I will check that again anyway.

Thanks.

I have just checked your site with link you gave.
I noticed that when you start checkout process, the pages changed to use https instead of http,
Have you installed SSL and got configured correctly?

I guess this is cause of problem.

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

I have been trying to see if I did find anything SSL related, but I didnt find anything, neither in the back office, or the cpanel.

So I tried to disable the SSL option in the administration preferences (it is meant o be cash on delivery only anyway, so it shouldn't hurt) but it still does the same thing.

Any other idea?

Many thanks, you have been really helpful.

You can disable SSL at your back office

Preference tab

After changes, it is better clear the cache of smarty
/tools/smarty/compile

But I just checked your site again, it seems that it is working fine now.
If your problem has been fixed, please share your information on how you fixed it.
and please mark it as SOLVED by adding SOLVED to the beginning of your first post.

WOW it is working! I hadn't noticed. I had disabled the SSL as you suggest and I tested again and still hadn't worked, but now it works.

I suppose I did the right thing when I disabled the SSL but I didn't gave enough time to save the changes , or hadn't cleared the browser cache or something.

Anyway it now works because I disabled the SSL in the Back Office (I think)

Many, many thanks for your help, couldnt have done without it.

so it means if I didn't notify you, you still don't know the problem is fixed already?
some time it is a right thing to do to notify the owner of thread to mark it SOLVED.
I just thought some people may hate me because I am always asking them to mark it as solved. ;-)

Well I guess I would have noticied, sometime :D, after I tried to solve it again, but I would probably have even less of a clue of what I was doing.

Anyway I think it is good to have both the solved mark and the resolution in easy access.
