Adding/editing catalog price rules extremely slow

Hello,

I manage a prestashop (1.7.6.1) e-commerce website and have recently had to start using catalog price rules to handle certain promotions. We have in total approximately 10,000 products in the store.

My problem is whenever I create or edit a catalog price rules (e.g. 20% off all products in category X, which has, say, 400 products), it's slow to a point where it's unusable. The whole process takes around 10 minutes and doesn't even seem to finish properly as not all products are correctly reduced. It basically grinds the website to a halt; I strongly doubt it is a resource problem as both the production and dev environments suffer from the same issue and they have ample resources.

Examining the MySQL server processes while it runs, it seems to be doing an enormous amount of work in ps_layered_x tables.

Anyone experience the same? Any tips on how we can optimize this? Thank you!

Did you find a solution to this problem? I have the same problem, but also just accessing the catalog price rules is very slow sometimes.

Try disable Indexing in BO > CONFIGURE > Search > Indexing and see if helps.
