Autocomplete in left column filters in a category?

We have presta set up for a bookstore and if you go to the main books category there are a lot of authors on the filter in the left column.

I'd want the option to have a search box on top of the filter to be able to start typing an author's name and have an autocomplete find them in the loaded list of authors so that I can select them and see their books.

Is there a module out there that does that?

It's there  by default.

Not sure you understand what i need. I already have that set up but it gives me a box with a hundred options for example. I want to be able to search within that box for a manufacturer's name.
