How do I disable / delete "Our Stores" from my Prestashop Site?

I am facing this problem, that I can not delete "Our Stores" from the footer. It would be important, because we are an online company. 

What I have tried: 

- deleted from Traffic & SEO --> partly worked, the ">" is still there and it is clickable, takes me still to the unwanted page (in LinkWidget it does not exists anymore)

- looked it up in the .tpl files, found stores.tpl, deleted it, gives me a HTML 500 error

- tried looking for it in the css files, no result 

- deleted the a part from SitemapController, did not help

- deleted StoreController, nothing changed

and many more... I have checked many of the Forum answers, but it seems in the new version of PrestaShop many of the options are limited. I do not have a Store Locator module (and can not find one in Module Catalog), I can not delete this feature in the Preview, and I do not even have blockcms. 

I am using Presta 1.7.6.5.

in module position try to delete your module

Go into Design/Link Widget and click the edit button for Our Company

Scroll down to static content and untick Stores then click Save

Go to module manager and disable the "Contact information" module for both mobile and desktop. That should remove the "Our Stores" from the footer.
