Product specific price go negative unless chosen combination

Shopify

Hi.

I was wondering if any1 can see through this issue with the price that turns negative when you reach the amount that impact the price. (I am not ready to change PS-files.)

I did find out, though, that if you in your Specific Price rule choose a specific combination, then the price will be reduced (still positive) to the right price.

All products in the table [specific_price] that has a {id_product_attribute} number (>0) seem ok - all other products in [specific_price] table with no {id_product_attribute} (=0) go negative

Can anyone tell me what other attribute than combination I can choose to have the Specific Price to get a {id_product_attribute} ?? (as it is a lot of work if you have many combinations and some specific prices if you can't just choose [All combinations])

Or what other variable changes the issue?

For me I can see that all products in the [specific_price] table that has a {id_product_attribute} is linked to the [product_attribute] table - is GOOD!!

BTW - it's NOT that the product doesn't have a product_attribute ID in table [product_attribute] - IT DOES - but for some reason it's only pushed to the [specific_price] table when a specific combination is set in the rule. - as far as I can see!

If I choose to update to the latest 1.6.1 - Will that help the issue? or is it then related to the theme? and maybe theme only?

Here it seems that the issue  was taken care of in 1.6.1.18 - but I am afraid if an update can mess with the shop and give other and new issues.... I'm not, yet, capable to know exactly which procedure to do for changing the file/files manually.

The right procedure for a successful update to 1.6.1.24 could be the solution to this problem and maybe a few others - anyone had problems after this kind of update?

If there is a right or wrong procedure - please guide me to the right ;)

Thanks in advanced for reading this far :)
