Bob van der Valk
Hello guys, I am confronted with a big mistery here. A few weeks ago I uploaded a lot of new images via import, brand by brand. I checked every upload to see if images were imported in backend and frontend. During the last 2 weeks I was working on my prices in Excel and today I wanted to upload those. 1. To my surprise, a lot of my images are now missing from those uploads in frontend and backend... 2. When I download my catalogue with the module export pro, those image links are still in the list ! So checked with my file manager and the files of the jpg images are simply gone! They don't exist anymore. So, can Prestashop delete images but keep the link in the database? I think 10% of my images are gone, random over most manufacturers. I have to look them up 1 by 1 now. Thanks. Bob van der Valk
I found more strange things... It almost looks that my provider put an old backup on my server. They say they didn't touch it. I now find products generated 2-4-2020 that I removed before 15-4-2020 for sure. Products uploaded on 15-4 are still there but the manufacturer is deleted. Inactive brands are active again. My database backup from 15-4 is not on the server in the admin folder anymore. I have a copy on my PC so I am sure it existed. It's all messed up. So putting back the last backup available from 1-5-2020 and see what happens.
Bob van der Valk
The problem seems to be solved by putting back a previous version of the database. The database probably pointed to the old image numbers (deleted by importing new ones), so no images were found. How an old database version got active is a mistery. Probably my provider messed up but does not want to say so. This post is not relevant to anyone so can be deleted.
