Changing URL, How scr**ed am I?

Good morning, day or evening to you all (depending on when you’re reading this)

 

This is related to URL in the ”Traffic and SEO” section in the back office. And based on this post I just want to know. How screwed am I? And can I fix this?

 

So on that note. Here’s the scenario. In some sort of bad screenplay four acts layout.

 

Act 1. The backstory.

I’m working for a company which wants a webshop for our business. They first hired some sort of a consult whom were to expensive so it all feel on my desk to make this webshop. My only qualification is that I’m under 30 years old so of course I can design a website. Apparently it worked pretty fine because we’re at the end of this road.

 

The prestashop version Is 1.7.6.3 btw.

 

Act 2. The intrigue.

Now we’re just going to put this to the URL of the domain that we want and own. But for some reason it doesn’t work and what I’ve discovered I need to put the webbshop in maintenance mode and download all prestashop folders, create a database and so on.

However. I don’t have access to all of this because I wasn’t the one how set this up. The consult has all of that information.

 

Act 3. The point of no return.

Just like when Rose thought that Jack had stolen the diamond and Titanic were about to sink is my sanity about to sink to the bottom of the Atlantic as well. Because my hands feels like they are tied. And when I search on this issue with the power of google I don’t get any good results, appart from the manual that’s in act 2. But there must be another way right? I truly hope that I can get a suggestion on what I should do or which steps/path to take. The only thing I can see right now is to redo everything but do it right this time.

So here I leave the ending to you all and to kickstart the conclusion I want to repeat the question I asked in the beginning. How screwed am I? And can I fix this?
