How to edit classic theme

I need to edit footer.tpl file in theme, but I don't know where to access the theme file.

Would you please point me to the right direction?

Presta version is 1.7.6, I need to remove the link to www.prestashop.com in the copyright, 

but don't know how to access the theme file in backend

You can edit:

...../themes/classic/templates/_partials/footer.tpl

comment out the block with the copyright link..

{block name='copyright _link'}

........

Thank you, but I don't know how to even go to that path, where to access the files?

oh, I see....

you need to access the files via ftp or other secure connection to the server where the files are stored...  your hoster may have instructions or help articles on how to access your files... (they will show how to login and where everything is).

once you get there, to edit the file... any text editor will do to make changes.

Thank you so much, so I'll look for instruction from my host, I am with IONOS.

Thank you NPO! I could access the file in my host control panel and modify it :))
