Payment processed on payment gateway but no orders on backend

As the title suggests, we are receiving payments through out gateway which in this instance is Worldpay, however sometimes it does not generate an order on the backend and doesn't empty their cart. We also use PayPal as have experienced no similar problems.

Having read a few articles, although out of date, this seems to be a common occurance with payment modules.

We are currently running PS 1.6.1.3 (with plans to update to the newest version this year).

Without checking every single transaction, which there are hundreds per day, we are going to miss several which means we are taking peoples money and not fulfilling orders without even knowing it. Has anyone experienced this and managed to fix it?

It appears to me that this is an third party module and the problem seems to sit there. Contact the Module creator.
