Kunal0
Hi, My Prestashop site was compromised and I lost all my front end. I have since reinstalled prestashop 2-3 times it works fine once I removed all original files and. Hhowevder now when i log into my dashboard I got a real high number of visitors from Europe in the last 30 minutes im not sure if to be suspicous or weary if someone is trying to hack me again. It is a completely different install with different credentials. Or am I just worrying about nothing. I am using Prestashop 1.6.1.24 till i can get the update sorted. Any tips be great Thanks Kunal Edited April 20, 2020 by Kunal0 (see edit history)
Guest
There are a lot of security holes in Prestashop 1.6. Install the new Prestashop 1.7. Change FTP access and database password. Do not install unverified modules. Then add google recaptcha to the contact form. Edited April 20, 2020 by Guest (see edit history)

jetway
My advice is to install a fresh copy of prestashop 1.7. Which Version of 1.7 are you trying to install?
Kunal0
Hi, its version 1.7.6 Kunal
Guest
You need to back up the database, FTP. Then delete everything. Upload the Prestashop package to FTP. Download Prestashop zip file. Open the zip file and inside is another zip file called prestashop.zip and the index.php file. You will only upload these two files to ftp. You run a clean installation. After installation it is necessary to upload data from the backed up database. ATTENTION !!! The Prestashop 1.6 database is not the same as Prestashop 1.7. My recommendation. Hire someone to upgrade. You can bother with it for a few days! An experienced programmer can do this in three hours.
Guest
If you are using 1 click upgrade, it is a guaranteed failure.
Guest
There are a lot of articles on bug 500, etc. after the Prestashop upgrade. That is to say that without a clean installation, you can have a hundred problems from one minor problem.
MichaelEZ
There is another way, migrate to TB ( ThirtyBees - fork of 1.6) imho much better option. Do u have any bought modules - if so u can still use then (atlest most of them) ? Edited April 22, 2020 by MichaelEZ (see edit history)
Kunal0
No I dont have any paid modules. I have tried one click but always failed upgrading to 1.7. Mind you it failed on clean installation also. Kunal
Guest
When installing PrestaShop 1.7 you must have PHP 7 on your server !!!
