Upgrade attempt crashed, now can't access my prestashop

Hello! I'm in a bit of a panic. I was trying to upgrade my prestashop from 1.6 to the newest version using the 1-click upgrade module. While the database update was in progress, I received an error message (syntax error in one of the files). Meanwhile, in an unrelated bout of bad lack, my browser crashed ... The website is now down and I am unable to access the online administration of my prestashop. What next?

1. restore backup - make sure shop is up and running again.

2. Use backups to install test environment - 2.5 plan update and test in test environment.

3. Take updated shop online.
