Hatka
Seems like I've tackled the problem: - The site was moved from another provider and the domain was also changed. One module had the log file path from the old site. Frustrating to spend hours and hours for such a stupid mistake. Still cannot understand how this kind of an error can affect running the JS ?!?!?!?! But it's working now. Found this out by enabling debug at the Presta backend. Then opened the frontend and press refresh. Suddenly a huge amount of errors concerning this one module and at the very first line the error was told. Bugger... I hope this helps someone else.
