img/p folder contains too much files

Hello,

I started to use PrestaShop about 3 months ago (1.3) and I wanted to upgrade (1.4).

I backed up my files and I opened the shop on my localhost, just to find out that some images were not present.

Only then is when I figured out that most hosting providers have a 2000 files/folder limitation. That's cool, but my image folder has 3000+ files - problem.

I don't know how things look like in the new version, but I can guess it's pretty much the same.

I think that this is a big issue, since some providers (not mine thankfully) even force you to pay-more/month.

So what can be done to get out of this awkward situation? Is there an option or must I redo the core?

Now I'm forced to either stay on the old version or try to update, with some what big chance of failure, and mess up my stuff.

Come on people, there must be a solution...

Doesn't anybody else had this problem? How do you backup?
