Resize height of manucarousel in classic theme

Hello,

In Prestashop 1.7, I am looking for a way I could resize the dimension of the manucarusel slider.

At the moment, with the classic theme, even if I create a smaller image size in the backoffice, and I specified that in the manucarusel configuration, the only results is that the pictures are loaded blured, at the lowered resolution of the specified size, but the actual size they take on the screen is the same (they get stretched to occupy the same space).

The space they occupy is too big to be elegant (see attachment). 

If anyone can point me to a direction where I could find possible approaches to workaround this issue I would be very grateful.
