help inserting images into my prestashop please

hi all, after a little help with inserting images to my prestashop website.

First of all, which sizes are recommended?

And which formats does it prefer?

I ask this as i tried to import and use a JPEG and it came up with not the image i askeed but little error icon.

You should use Jpeg for photos and Gifs for small icons or logos. Keep in mind that sometimes the extension could be .jpg but it isn't the real format. You can open it with your image software and save it again as a Jpeg.

Ive taken it directly from my camera and states in properties that is JPEG.

What do you recommend for image software? ive got paint.net and illustrator.

Paint.net and Gimp are Ok. You can try VSO Image Resizer to adapt the size from your photos to the web. You can transform hundreds of photos with one click. Web photos should be 50~300kb more or less.

mu pictures are currently 700 to 800 ish kb

just tried through opening the photo in paint.net and saving a jpg.

but still.. no luck :/

They are both free. VSO Image-Resizer only shows a windows for 3 seconds if you have the free version.

What photo are you trying to upload? One from the internet or from your camera?

Try to open it with GIMP and save it as .png or .jpg, resize it with VSO and then try again to upload the photo.

In jpg format, upload and get a little error and no picturre :/
