tl
Hi I have a prestashop install (spec below) which is an upgrade, however it was working fine on the modules page with this version, that is the odd thing. I dont know what has changed, but now I cant configure or delete any modules.I can view all the modules on the page (I have tried to sort all the permissions correctly so now I have applied 777 recursively to be sure), however, when I press configure on any module it flashes at me and says "Module successfully uninstalled" in a green box and then remains in the state is was before. I can uninstall modules and re-enable them but I cannot configure any modules - but I could a week ago?I am not sure but one day my ajax cart stopped working for no particular reason and I wonder whether these things correlate and it is some ajax issue going on. Below is my spec and I have paste a list of my modules in case anyone can match this issue. I cant think what I could have done to prompt this as I dont think I installed any new plugsAny ideas?I cant seem to attach my module graphic will try in the next postThanksServer informationPrestashop Version: 1.4.0.17Server information: Linux #1 SMP Mon Aug 24 19:39:18 PDT 2009 x86_64Server software Version: ApachePHP Version: 5.2.14MySQL Version: 5.0.[spam-filter]community-logStore informationURL of your website: https://www.XXXX.co.uk/Theme name used: deco_evoMail informationMail method: You use PHP mail() function.Your informationInformation from you: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.16) Gecko/20110319 Firefox/3.6.16Check your configurationRequired parameters: OKOptional parameters: OK

Ok, support staff did few tests on the server. Same problems. They did a test on another server and apparently there is no problem. Those modules are there and can be configured. They are now migrating my hosting to that server. Let's see if everything is fine later. So the problems must have something to do with server config. May be some php or apache modules not installed or enabled or not configured correctly.

Problems solved. But we have no idea if it's really caused by the server. As per information from support staff, both servers are having same config.Hootco_Limited and mark21 can try to ask your hosting company/vendor to help and see if problems can be solved.Thank you. Tom_Rufener
Same here, I suddenly can't install/uninstall/configure modules anymore in Prestashop 1.4.0.17. The installation is a fresh one, not an update from a previous Prestashop version. I've found a fix, see below
Tom_Rufener
OK, here's the SOLUTION! In the performance section (where you can set caching options), scroll down to the bottom of the page and DISABLE the caching function. This worked in my case; I can install/configure/uninstall modules now.
walkies
Hi, new to prestashopI was running the previous version of prestashop but decided to install a fresh version of 1.4 on the exact same server as the previous version. I cannot install/uninstall/configure ANY modules in this version. I have the cache disabled and have the same blank screen when you click on Modules tab.Is there a solution to this otherwise as far as I can see it makes Prestashop 1.4 useless !p.s. It's nice to know Scotland isn't in the UK for Geolocations!
nileco
I'm new to prestashop, running a local MAMP setup on my mac and experiencing the same blank module page using version 1.4.
walkies
***** RESOLVED ******From Prestashop bug reports I came across this and has resolved my problem with the modules not displaying:http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/PSCFI-1126**************** HERE IS THE FIX *********************open /config/config.inc.php and in /* Improve PHP configuration to prevent issues */ add this:ini_set('memory_limit','-1');Its not a bug its just the modules are memory hungry for small servers - "Indeed, it's not a bug but a problem with your server configuration. Please increase your memory_limit value. We need improve the module page for small server"
