Advanced Shipping Rules

Hi All,

I am wondering if someone could please help me achieve these shipping rules on my prestashop site. I own a record shop that sells records (for example) 7" @ 50g, 12" and LP @ 200g and I have been struggling to setup the shipping prices.

If the customer orders just 7"s @ 50g they will pay £2.50 postage up to 150g, however if they add a 12" the postage cost will go up to £4.50 (due to the package size) up to 250g etc...

The max weight for royal mail postage (no matter if its the uk or worldwide) is 2kg, however if the parcel weighs more than 2kg, then its DHL if its a UK order DHP worldwide.

If someone could please help I'd gladly buy them a coffee, pint or something

The ‘Ship in 3D’ shipping module uses a 3D packing algorithm to verify that each product of the order fits into one of the available package types. Each shipping method has its own independent selection of package types. The module also allows configuring tiered pricing by shipping weight ranges. By combining these settings you could price shipping of 7" and 12" records differently. The heaviest weight range limit of tiered pricing also acts as a maximum weight limit, so this takes care of the 2 kg maximum weight limit of Royal Mail.

The module also lets you configure allowed destination countries (and states, postal codes and many more additional shipping configuration settings not available otherwise) and minimum weight limit. Combining these settings could be used to configure a shipping method for deliveries heavier that 2 kg in UK by DHL and one or more shipping methods for deliveries by DHP worldwide.

So you could have the following shipping methods and configurations:

Royal Mail (7" records)

• Package type for 7" records
• Tiered pricing by weight ranges (heaviest weight range 2kg)
• Destination country UK

Royal Mail (7" and 12" records)

• Package type for 12" or smaller records
• Tiered pricing by weight ranges (heaviest weight range 2kg)
• Destination country UK

DHL

• Package type for 12" or smaller records (or disable 3D packing algorithm)
• Minimum weight limit 2 kg
• Tiered pricing, pricing per kg, volume, number of packages etc.
• Destination country UK

DHP Worldwide

• Package type for 12" or smaller records (or disable 3D packing algorithm)
• Minimum weight limit 2 kg (or mayby no minimum weight limit if DHP is used for worldwide shipping of any weight?)
• Tiered pricing, pricing per kg, volume, number of packages etc.
• All destination countries except UK (or you could configure one DHP method for Europe, one for North America etc. and price them differently)
