Why, in my opinion, Prestashop will disappear (the modo will certainly censor)

The Prestashop team:

  • has coders wearing mittens or boxing gloves
  • never managed a shop (and that's a shame). The assets always presented from the oldest to the most recent is normal (for example, eh)
  • loves money
  • don't like those who made it so successful (the "volunteers" of the forum)
  • make some hazardous technical choices (smarty, hard coding then several versions of jquery then framework but not for all, back office responsive = big expenditure of useless energy, catch up with Magento, provide bits of pseudo management solutions .. .)
  •  managed to favor the emergence of a more efficient fork (I have not tested)
  • proposes a poor version 1.7 unusable according to me (translations, Paypal not available in native .........)
  • references any web agency as long as it pays
  • dead forum

In short, it goes into sham and it's not the fault of people who have contributed so much to the version 1.x Prestashop.

I do not think there will be a version 2 and anyway, it will be without me.

Your opinions ?

not sure you have enough street cred for pronouncing the death of PS, good luck working with whatever ecommere system you move to.

I giggle when I see people say 1.7 unstable, we been implementing 1.7 shops for several years now without issue.....

also here is place to ask questions and get community help not get on soap box and denounce, with 2 posts I don't see you as someone that has even attempted to use the community for what it is, to help.

you should open a topic for each question or help you need, maybe it's not PS it's you.

It might die, it might not. Everything depends on the speed. Right now they need a stable, more open version, far as i see in this past weeks, this looks like freemium. And yes on the last 3 points i totally agree.
