Cannot Create Bespoke Shipping Zones + Shipping Policies are Just Plain Weird & Impossible

Hi there,

- How do l create a special bespoke postage zone e.g. just for Ireland?

I want to call it, for example, ABCD Europe

Within the zone ABCD Europe, there is only one country: Ireland.

 

How do l do this?

Problems:

- There are no predefined continents, l have to enter the countries manually

- I cannot duplicate an existing zone e.g. l cannot just duplicate the existing "Europe" and work from that to delete all but Ireland (for example)

- What on earth is "Speed Grade" really? I understand that 9 is shortest delay, 0 is longest delay. But look, l'm already going to state how many days delivery takes. All l need to add is the processing time starting from when order is placed, to when courier collects, with the cut-off time for the clock to start ticking being, say, 8am on that day.

Why not just have it like that?

Processing time: 1 day (cut off time: 8am)

Courier delivery time: 3-7 days

What's wrong with doing it like that?

 

Also, if l write 3-7 days, how can a shipping time module ever make sense of that? Surely l need to write 3 in a lower estimate column, and 7 in a higher estimate column? So that an add-on extension can then calculate the total time required?

 

I'm sorry but please can you answer soon because none of my posts seem to be getting answers. I really want to set up a shop but nobody will help me with shipping.
