Associate products with parent categories ?

Hi there.

I am using 1.7.6 Prestashop version and I have a question about what is the best way to manage category architecture.

When you create a new product, what is the best way to do ? Associate it with its only one category or with the parent categories of this category?

Exemple: I will create a new product called "Heels Shoes".
My catagories architecture is Fashion / Shoes / Women.
So I will associate my new product with "Women", but should I also associate it with "Shoes" and with "Fashion" ?
To your opinion or experience, what is best?
