PS search - he no workee...man cries

Now call me expectant, but I'd have thought a search on an e-commerce shop would work 'out the virtual-box' ...alas, not on my newly built site (V1.7.6.1)

Ok, assuming I have a product call aa-123 ....how do I ensure that product is actually located when someone type aa-123 in the search box on the home page?

Ok...man stops crying...I found the missing ingredient (Shop Parameters->Search->Rebuild Index)

But while I'm here...it's now finding two products when I search for aa-123  (it may well be because another product in my catalog mentions product aa-123 in its description field), so what data/text is actually hunted through when a search is done?
