tomerg3
It's on there, but for some reason the tag gets a style="display: none" which hides the categories. If you view the source, or use firebug you will see it.

ufikas
Ok, a massive update.I installed fresh version of PS 1.4.0.17 everything seemd fine for a moment. When i started to move modules positions - same bug appeared - Categories do not show up when set to dynamic, it becomes .So it's really a bug and I guess it depends on what modules you enable and where. Trying to figure out what were my last actions befor this.
ufikas
So finally found where something weird happens.Fresh install 1.4.0.17, standard theme.Disabled all the modules to start building from the scratch.Enabled these modules:Quick Search block v1.0 by PrestaShopCart block v1.2 by PrestaShopCategories block v2.0 by PrestaShopCMS Block v1.1 by PrestaShopNew products block v0.9 by PrestaShopFeatured Products on the homepage v0.9 by PrestaShopAfter this Categories block meniu was working fine. Then, i unhooked all modules (there were few) that were asigned to Header position in Back Office > Modules > Positions And this is when Categories block menu stops working...Fast way to test it:After fresh install go to Back Office > Modules > Positions and unhook all Header modules. ufikas
So after using trial and error method i finally solved this problem. The thing is that Categories block v2.0 must be hooked not only in Left column, but also in Header of pages. Then it works fine.Dear prestashop developers i admire job you do, i donate to you and buy various your PS modules. But looks like PrestaShop v 1.4 is far from RC, not talking about the Final.

ufikas
Back Office > Modules > Positions. Click on Transplant a module and hook module to desired position.
Pawel W.
Thanks ufikas, I couldn't find it myself. Haven't thought about looking into module code before - couse if module works at first and after some time crashes - it's not the code fault, right? When you know how things work - it's plain simple: Header Hook is used to add CSS and JS scripts, so don't remove any modules from there. riverspart
I've gotten this error due to delete js folder in theme directory unfortunately. I copied another to there, then it worked. ^^!
