Hello, I have one shop running on very old prestashop version: 1.6.1.19. What is the best approach (upgrade path) to migrate it to 8.x? Do I have to upgrade 1.6.x to 1.7.x, then 1.7.x to 8.x? Or it's possible to upgrade 1.6 directly into the newest one? PS. I don't care about plugins, because every plugin supports the newest version.

I tried to upgrade Prestashop 1.7.5.2 to Prestashop 1.7.6 PHP Version 7.0.33 Software Version Apache After upgrade I could view home page and catalog pages but when I tried to view a product page, I would get the following shown in Debug mode: "Fatal error: Access level to ProductController::$quantity_discounts must be protected (as in class ProductControllerCore) or weaker in /override/controllers/front/ProductController.php on line 262" I went and viewed the file and line 262 is the last line in the file and only shows the symbol } I disabled all third party modules and still wouldn't work. I had to do a rollback to get my site back up and running. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You -

Hey guys I installed: 1 click upgrade v.4.0 beta module to upgrade my site to prestashop 1.7.4.0. I downloaded the module from here: https://github.com/PrestaShop/autoupgrade/releases/tag/v4.0.0-beta.3 Then I installed the module successfully. After tryint to use the module to upgrade my site to Prestashop 1.7.4.0. It gives me this error: [INTERNAL] C:\Bitnami\prestashop-1.7.3.4-0\apps\prestashop\htdocs\modules\autoupgrade\classes\Tools14.php line 1399 - Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 65011736 bytes) Now I've tried changing, memory_limit sizes and memory upload sizes inside prestashop and in bitnami itself to 512M then restarted MySQL and Apache, cleaned my browser cache. THen trying it again. But it still is giving me that error.

Hi I recently updated Prestashop to version 1.7 and now my website is lost. Everything is gone. Have anyone else experienced this? And how do I get my webshop back? I have a backup file from Prestashop but I can't make it work.

Hi guys, I've been experimenting with upgrading Prestashop through the 1-click module, and the version I upgraded to had many problems(1.6.1.11). Slider didn't work correctly, save button was endlessly loading, I could't log in as costumer anymore. Maybe even more problems. Issues I have with the current version I'm on(1.6.0.8) is that the normal save button doesn't work correctly, it directs you back to the products, but the product is not saved. However the save and stay function does work weirdly enough... What do you guys suggest is the best version of Prestashop, stable wise? And what are your thought on upgrading a two year old Prestashop webshop? I'm new to the Prestashop development cycle, so I really appreciate some advice! With kind regards, Zico

Hello fellow Geeks, so I finally upgraded from 1.4+ to 1.6 and learned a lot. It's a bitch for sure, but worth it. It should be easier, integration shouldn't be that difficult and I know some fellows will loose some customers but whatever. So on the process of upgrading, the products are fine (most attributes messed up) but I am missing the short and long descriptions. I tried via db but just got messier. Has anyone good Samaritan experienced this or knows hot to fix it. It's very tedious to copy and paste those descriptions from the old shop to the new one, one by one Cheers, AJ -

I have the latest version of Prestashop installed. Can any one help?

Hi, while i try upgrading my eshop based on prestashop 1.5.6 with 1-click upgrade to prestashop 1.6.0.5 the instalation stuck at upgrading addons. And when I try acsess shop I get: Link to database cannot be established: SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 's8x6attc'@'195.210.29.44' (using password: YES) I attach print screen of stuck. Is there any posibility how to upgrate shop another way withou needing to install and copy all products seo and another content?

Hi, I've altered both module and core .tpl files within a prestashop theme how do I go about then updating a site once I've done this. The client wanted specific things on each page so I had to alter the actual .tpl files. Can I simply update prestashop and then overwrite the files I altered back in the correct places? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks Jon

hey, its been ages since iv been on the forums, or done anything with my site, so i decided to get back on task and continue with my store. I liked the look of the backoffice in prestashop 1.6 so i upgraded my store from 1.5.2 to 1.6, and now my sits all over the place im aware this is due to me customizing my template in 1.5 so i think im going to have to re-design the entire site again, but i dont know where to start, as the template the upgrade installed (bootstrap) is a messy page to start with. is it possible to just get the template without modifications, or should i install a whole new prestashop 1.6 on my server and start new? www.exposeclothing.com.au -
Hi, I recently upgraded my prestashop from 1.4 to 1.6 via 1 click upgrade. I enabled Multishop option. There were many issues that i have fixed, but I am not able to edit products in admin, when i save details for all shops it doesnot work, and when i save from one site it saves some details. please help, it is not showing any error nor log -
It's been a couple of days that I'm trying to upgrade my PS 1.5 to 1.6 and i think that apart of a couple of issues everything is working as intended. I'm upgrading using 1 click update because manual update did not produce any descent results. Some issues I'm really concerned abut (i'm working on localhost): The little prestashop icon at the top left on the Back Office spins forever, it does not happen if i create a fresh installation of 1.6 (attachment 1) The themes admin on the updated store is different if i compare it to the fresh install (attachment 2) -What am I doing wrong, should i deactive my template before upgrading? - What does that spinner on top-left and why it is spinning forever? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hallo thier I have a 1.4.9.0 PS, that i want to upgrade or make a fresh 1.5.6.1 doing to some errors in the code. I have a database with lots of order/customer and products, that i want with in the new 1.5.6.1 PS. So what i need is the following: How do i get all my prestashop informations over in the 1.5.6.1, upgrading or a new install .?? I have tryed the following. I have tryed to follow guides from the forum on how to manual upgrade from 1.4.9.0 to 1.5 without any luck in the database. I have tryed to use the 1-click autoupgrade, but with that i keep getting lots of errors. Error 1. When opening the autoupgrade thing i get this error unable to create file /data/home/customda/public_html/cassim/autoupgrade/backup/index.php Error 2. So when pressing the upgrade i get the following error below Javascript error (parseJSON) detected for action "upgradeNow".Starting restoration... What to do ? How do i get this working for me. ? The most important for me is that i can get the following content with over in a new site. CMS content Products / Category Customers Orders Module settings All other information is useless, just this 5 points. Hope you can help me or bring a point up for me how to fix it. -
Good day, i have upgraded PrestaShop to 1.6.0.6 version and now i have the following problems: 1) i can not see the newsletter module. Does not appear in the main page and does not appear in the live editor. 2) i have entered in the "block contact information" module data company but upon entering, in the main page in the footer you only see the title "Information about the shop" 3) the social module does not accept the link to FaceBook. It might be because the FaceBook page is temporary (it's just been open and we have less than 25 users) If yes, there is a way to insert it? Thank you very much P.S. The questions refer to the Italian version of PrestaShop. The names of the modules may not be exactly as written in the English version. -
Hi Techies, I am using prestashop version 1.5.4.1 I am in need of upgrading it to version 1.5.6.2 (minor release) by using 1-Click Upgrade. My 1-Click Upgrade module is updated to latest version. While upgrading on prestashop, I got this error. I tried twice, I got same error twice. Hi I have a Prestashop store on a development URL running 1.5.3.1 which is working perfectly. I decided it would be a good idea to install a fresh version of the latest Prestashop (1.5.6.2) before going live so I was up to date. The fresh install goes fine, but when it comes to connecting the database to the latest version, it gives me the following error on the FO : Oops, something went wrong. Try to refresh this page or feel free to contact us if the problem persists. I can get to the BO, but it will not let me log in. I know the username and password I am using is correct, but it tells me that "The Employee does not exist, or the password provided is incorrect". I have double checked the database for any errors I can think of, but I can't see any problems. I have also double checked the config/settings.inc.php file and everything seems to be correct. Is there any reason why a database built with 1.5.3.1 wouldn't work with 1.5.6.2? Any help would be appreciated! -

Hi Fellow members, I need your help in resolving a strange issue on my portal : www.acmahabazaar.com " I can not get the products edited from the back end. While I try to edit any of the products, they don`t seem to reflect the edits applied, instead they retain their original values. For example I tryto edit this products price : http://screencast.com/t/2rPfBXFD6 >> http://screencast.com/t/do62OJysCg1S and while after entering the values http://screencast.com/t/s3sxVXkxFN and pressing "save and stay" I get redirected to the catalog list page http://screencast.com/t/XB9bXwetCD and I dont see the changes I have made to product price being applied Also, I don`t see any confirmation message/Error message and the same thing happens if the product is directly saved instead of "save and stay " Help Much appreciated!! -Seomaster -
Im about to upgrade my store from 1.5.3 to 1.5.6 and then also going to add a number of other languages. To avoid downtime ive made a fresh install and configured everything so I just need to redirect my shop domain. However since I reinstalled everything all my products and categories has new Id-s wich also means new urls. (for example mydomain.com/3-category/ can be www.mydomain.com/en/2-category/ and same with products). What is the best way to make this so seo-friendly as possible? Simply list all my current urls in a .htaccess and manually redirect (303?) all pages to new urls in new shop? Thanks in advance!

Hello! I have a serious problem with editing products short and full descriptions in my BO. When I try to add a new product after saving it the description is empty, I mean after saving there is no description, it isn't saved. From time to time, maybe once for dozen tries saving description is succeed. The similar situation is when I try to upadte the description of existing product. When I change the text, after saving nothing is changed. Sometimes, but there is no rule, after saving changes the description is update. I haven't traouble with changing and saving other data like prices etc. I think something wrong is with javascript, especially with jquery. When I disable jquery tagify plugin I can edit and update product descriptions, but then I can't see the category tree in the Associations tab. Does anybody have an idea how to solve? I can't restore the site from backup, and I can't to add new or update any product. Please help. Regards, Michal
