Hi, I'm helping a friend escape from his current service support. This involved moving his existing Prestashop site to a new Host. I chose Hostgator because I already run several WP sites there. I followed all the on line instructions. 1) Corrected PS settings 2) Downloaded DB 3) Downloaded files 4) Created new DB/User/Password on Hostgater 5) Changed settings in settings inc 6) uploaded old DB to Hostagtor 7) deleted files from cache smarty 8) uploaded files to Hostgator Went to site. Immediately found SQL connection issue. Used HG support. They said there was an encryption error???? They made changes. Now when I connect I get a pur white screen. I try to connect to back office same white screen. Original call mumbled about hatches.php being empty Called again yesterday and was told that the files are propagating. After 24 hours still have white screen. Does anyone have any suggestions. Not yet migrated to 1.6. Tx Finlay

Good evening everyone, I am currently having an issue with a client website. I recently bought my own VPS server and moved my clients to it with no problems, with exception to my prestashop users. The Problem After entering the URL I am presented with a download window. Try it yourself (bullski[DOT]ca) How I transferred files Using Cpanel I backed up the home directories and databases. I then restored them on the new server. All files are 644 and the folders are 755. If you need further information please let know and thank you.

When trying to access the FO of my website that I recently moved from localhost to the hosting server I keep on getting tthe following error message (the display_errors flag is enabled) and a blank page: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home2/madc/public_html/override/controllers/front/IndexController.php on line 63 Line 63 of IndexController.php (method that overwrites the core file IndexController.php) reads as follows: ...... this->context->smarty->assign(array( 'HOOK_TOPCART' => Hook::exec('TopCart'), 'HOOK_HOME' => Hook::exec('home'), 'HOOK_HEAD_HOME' => Hook::exec('headHome'), 'HOOK_LEFT_BOTT' => Hook::exec('LeftColBot'), 'homeCategories' => Category::getHomeCategories(1), 'currentHomeCategoryId' => $currentHomeCategoryId )); ....... The website works fine in the localhost, but after migrating to my hosting server I can only access the backoffice. I am using the version 1.5.3.0 of Prestashop and on the hostserver the PHP version is 5.3.26. I already tried to read other forum topics also related to the same error, but they all were related to the index.php file instead. Also I contacted my hosting helpdesk but they could not help me with this issue. I also tried to comment-out the line 63, but then I got again a blank page with the text "Overridden Method". Could anyone help me with this problem, I am getting quite frustated, and want to avoid as much as possible a fresh installation and having to fill up my database all over again.

Hi, I've just tried to copy my shop from one host to another. The hostingcompany is the same, so I figured most details would remain the same. Unfortunately i'm coming up with a white page when I try the new URL. I can enter the admin page no problem. I've followed steps from older topics, but I can't really figure out where i've gone wrong. I have: - Copied all files to new host - Changed config to the new DB user/pw - Copied database to new host At first it said "Cannot establish link to database" but that's fixed now, however its just a white page. In the admin it shows all database data (old orders etc.) so it seems to be connection properly. Anyone any suggestion as to how to fix this? Regards, Dave

My Website was hosted at a shared hosting service. It was working fine. Then the same hosting company offered a shared hosting package with unlimited space and bandwidth, so I jumped at the chance and purchased it. I asked them to move my website to the new hosting plan which they did, and asked me to point my domain's name servers to point to the new server. However once the domain name propagated and I was accessing my website on the new server I noticed that some of the tags in the tag cloud are not working properly. There are about 60-70 tags on my website and they are very useful for my customers to find what they want, as all products with that tag can be listed together when clicked on them (Even if they are in different categories)/ However when I click on a few tags, I get this error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /search on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Server error log: [sun May 20 13:51:48 2012] [error] [client 112.134.241.229] File does not exist: /home/[myusername]/public_html/favicon.ico [sun May 20 13:51:48 2012] [error] [client 112.134.241.229] File does not exist: /home/[myusername]/public_html/403.shtml, referer: http://www.[mywebsite].com/ Please note this only happens on a few tags not all. Most tags are working fine. There does not seem to be a pattern on which tags are affected, but always the same tags are affected even after a re-installation. If it is a permission error, why aren't all tags affected? I have tried the following steps without success. 1. Regenerate the .htaccess file many times. 2. Install a new copy of Prestashop. Problem comes back as soon as the database is imported even without restoring the other customized theme files/modules/Images/config. So basically a new installation with the same database gives the same error. 3. Give 777 permissions recursively to all files and subfolders of download, img, mails, modules, translations, upload folders. I know, I know, It is wrong, but I am desperate. By the way I tried to copy the site back to the old server and this error is not seen when the site is run on that server. So it is most likely a server issue, but my host is just a reseller and is not able to help me without narrowing down the problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Regards Uditha
