Hi everyone, The images in my site’s RSS feed show as somehow washed out, blurry and not in detail/focus. I noticed that there is an option to set the pixels for width and height for the images in Preferences -> Images. The images in my RSS feed have the corresponding resolution to the small_default image type in Preferences -> Images. But changing these values don’t reflect in image resolution quality in the RSS feed. Does anybody know where I should set the image resolution for the RSS feed? Thank you.

Hi to all, After hosting migration my prestashop v 1.6 when I try to upload product image are saved but with very bad quality. I think is an issue related with compression process but I'm not sure if is a setting for Prestashop or hosting. Any help? I attached original image and result of upload process. Thank you in advance

Hi all, Does anyone else have this issue? When using the automatic resizing (thumbnail generation) function from admin, the image quality of the resultant thumbnails is very poor. Our source files are very clean, high res and high quality, and we've tried bumping the jpeg compression up to 100% in the admin panel. We've tried uncompressed png > jpg and high quality jpg > jpg. But the image quality coming out of the automatic resizing code seriously degrades the images. PLus we have a plain cream BG colour which gets artifacts all over it. What's going on?? Is it perhaps possible to replace the PHP library that's doing the image processing with a better one? If we can't resolve this we'll be forced to manually save out the images at all sizes (which is easy using photoshop's batch function) and replace the ones prestashop creates (which looks to be a major headache as it seems to put them in different directories...) Any pointers would be great. Cheers!

I have been really struggling with image quality issues with Prestashop and wonder if anyone has worked out a useable solution. Before anyone points me to image setting, all are set to max quality. The problem is I am able to create a jpg from photoshop that is 100 times better than that which Prestashop produces through GD and at a smaller size. GD through Prestashop seems to have particular problems with reds with massive artefact problems. I would simply upload my own copy to replace the produced ones though this is very cumbersome. I hoped that by creating the large default size exactly for product images that it would at least use my copy there, but even that is resized again, often becoming larger in size yet far more jpeg lossy artefacts. Is there a workable addon, solution or method so as to remove the cumbersome process of going through the folders to find exactly where each product is located and creating my own files for each one? I can see problems with that process anyway as I could never re-process the thumbnails for the smaller images if I make an adjustment to the image sizes needed for the layout. Images are everything with selling online, and this area may simply cause me to go to another platform if I cant arrange a workable solution. I would really like to use Prestashop, but this is such a massive problem. Example below of similar file size, but the max quality achieved by Prestashop on the left which is terrible. Please click on the example to see clearly the problem.

I've been looking around for a while, but I can't seem to find any answers on this one. Through the "Images" menu, I've set the quality of all images to maximum, as in 100 for JPEGs and 0 for PNGs, and images are STILL downgraded in quality when I upload them. For example, my category pictures are lowered in quality when I upload them. How do I make this stop? I want them to be precisely of the quality they are when I save them, unchanged. If that's not possible, I heard that a possible workaround is to enable HTML image tags in the category description and just stick an externally hosted image in there. Is this true? I'd appreciate any help on this, guys. www.coomie-cams.com Edit: And yes, I've regenerated all images multiple times. PrestaShop just doesn't seem to allow maximum image quality.
