Hello fellow Geeks, so I finally upgraded from 1.4+ to 1.6 and learned a lot. It's a bitch for sure, but worth it. It should be easier, integration shouldn't be that difficult and I know some fellows will loose some customers but whatever. So on the process of upgrading, the products are fine (most attributes messed up) but I am missing the short and long descriptions. I tried via db but just got messier. Has anyone good Samaritan experienced this or knows hot to fix it. It's very tedious to copy and paste those descriptions from the old shop to the new one, one by one Cheers, AJ -
Recently we attached a larger copied database to a new prestashop installation to replace the default one created by the new installation. When we logged into the back-end admin the main headings showed up such as in advanced parameters only the configuration would appear, the same with preferences where only the category general was shown. After spending an embarrassing amount of time on this problem. the answer was pathetically simple, we had left out a single / in the physical url line of the database table shop url. If the shop is in the root directory the / has to be put on the physical url line. If the shop is in a sub-directory such as prestashop or shop, you not only have to put in /prestashop on the physical url line,you also have to follow that with a back slash /prestashop/ following the sub-directory otherwise you you will not get the sub-category choices in the back end admin. -
My frontend is working fine but when I open my backend first of all it takes a lot of time to open. After opening It pop ups an error " TECHNICAL_ERRROR:[object:Object] " If I open any link like Catalog/Customer/Modules I get following error: " Bad SQL query MySQL server has gone away" URL: cbseipprojects.com

Combination causes reference # to disappear

Hello everyone, I have encountered the following issue. When creating a new product combination the reference number disappears from the product page. It doesn't make a difference whether I specify the same reference number for each combination and/or just for the main product. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks for reading! -
Hi I've got a client stressing today because all the Specific Prices that were in the product information have gone. She re-did two products this morning and one of those has already gone again! Its Prestashop 1.6.05. I've got a 'Quantity Discounts' module installed that displays the Specific Price rule on the product page but I can't see that that would effect the price infomation just disappearing from the product. Thanks in advance for any help -
I was trying to add a new item to the BO's left-navigation through Administration --> Menus. Since I could't get what I wanted working, I decided to remove my new entry and go on working. But all of a sudden, when I click on "Modules", I get the message "controller not found". I have not fiddled with the existing menu items, I only tried to install a new one. "Modules" still links to "index.php?controller=AdminModules&token-xxx" (as it's supposed to right?) The file /controllers/admin/AdminModulesController.php is not missing on the server, I tried to empty cache and all, but no luck..... Please don't tell me if I have to re-install PS....

hello.. iv started setting up my shop following the prestashop 1.5 user Manuel.. it told me to run a prestashop cleaner and i did.. after that im missing all the values and attributes that where programmed in from the initial install.. how do i get them back, is there a prestashop reset? please help thank you in advance for all the help Pure Xperience -
Is it true that the admin functionality to add an image title and caption are removed in prestashop 1.5? And so, why? I can't find the settings anymore, the field 'legend' still exists in the database though. The description is like "Newsletter" or "Show full size". Can somebody enlight me on this problem. -
I was in the middle of adding a new product to my website when I went back to the front end of my website and noticed ALL items that were already in my catalog are missing! What can I do about this? They show up in the backend/backoffice but are not showing up on the actual website. -
Hi everybody, I am wondering if someone can help me. I have a websop: www.electromax.nl We are trying out some new stuff, but now the categories block is acting pretty strange. If I click on the first 13 categories, the block strangely disapperas: When I click on a product or the last category (Accessoires) the block functions properly. Any ideas on how to fix this? Any kind of help would me much appreciated. Tnx in advance, Ömer
