Hello I've had problem with my Prestashop 1.4.1.1. I am unable to use the automatic upgrade module, it simply doesn't work, I have tried several times but I keep having to roll back to my original version. I also have some problems with my site as I get error messages showing on my back office module page. My site works fine though - bizarrely! I first installed my shop in August 2011. I would like to upgrade it and the only way to do it so that I can keep all my products and customer details is to do a fresh install and assign my existing DB it. Could someone guide me as to which folders and files to copy across as well as assigning my DB. So I've done a fresh install and created an empty database. If anyone can help, I'd much appreciate it. Many thanks.

After a fresh install of 1.7.4.4 all sample product images are not shown, Create a new product and also did not display the product photo. If I switch and turned off friendly urls then the product images are shown also the new one I just added, but when I turn the friendly urls on again the images disappear again. The links works good, I really want to use the friendly url for better SEO but I cannot make it works as expected. Here is the store: shop.finedresser.com I let the Friendly URL on so you can see the bad behavior. https://shop.finedresser.com/index.php Friendly URL = NO https://new.finedresser.com/en/ Friendly URL = NO https://new.finedresser.com/phpinfo.php . PHP-info Anything I should config let me know. Thanks

Hi all, As a will for the new year I wanted to transfer my prestashop from a shared server to a cloud server (virtual machine) As of my website started getting laggier and laggier, becoming slow also on simple operations, I wanted to do a fresh install on the new virtual machine, use a light theme (right now I have a Leo Theme Apollo Theme theme and seems to slower performances, despite I appreciate so much their framework). The main issue with this decision is to understand if it is possible not to lose all the set of categories and products, preserving previous website ids, transactions, conditions, etcetera. Any suggestion? Any Service? Any Module? Thanks EDIT: My Website is nicolestore.it
-
P.s. Naturalmente le soluzioni DIY o low budget saranno prese in considerazione in prima istanza. A presto!

I have tryed to use the 1-click autoupgrade, but with that i keep getting lots of errors. Error 1. When opening the autoupgrade thing i get this error unable to create file /data/home/customda/public_html/cassim/autoupgrade/backup/index.php Error 2. So when pressing the upgrade i get the following error below Javascript error (parseJSON) detected for action "upgradeNow".Starting restoration... What to do ? How do i get this working for me. ? The most important for me is that i can get the following content with over in a new site. I installed v1.6 the wrong way (downloaded file and copied over old file and tried going to the /install/ folder) - not sure why as its been years since updates used to run that way. Having been running Prestashop since, I think, v1.3 and upgrading each time; I figured I have probably messed and changed things so much in that time that a fresh install would be quite nice. Might even make things a bit quicker since I'm on a cheap shared hosting plan. I was wondering the best way to create a fresh install of Prestashop and then import products/categories/customers/orders/CMS. Have tried a fresh install and then just changing the database the fresh v1.6 looks at to look at the old database but it doesn't seem to work very well.

So this is what we get from a brand new fresh install on a cloud server which is at gearhost. The install worked just fine and completed but upon trying to access the store or admin it shows this. I have read some issues now after researching that UNC style path doesn't work with prostashop although I cant find that confirmed from any official source. Is it possible to get confirmation of this or anybody know why this is not working? Hello, I have just uploaded the Prestashop files ready to install it on my server, however I am now getting the dreaded '500 Internal Server Error'. I have removed the .htaccess file and still get this error, I also have tried uploading the files to a different folder and still I get this error. If i remove all the files, the error goes.. it seems to be just with the prestashop files, all of which I have not edited or even used, as I have not even been able to install the software. I have googled and looked around on the forums, but it seems most people get this error after they have installed or further down the line.. Anything wrong with the installation files which I need to edit to fix this? Many thanks!

Very simple question. If you had the choice for a fresh install, would you install 1.4.9 or install version 1.5.3 ? Also knowing that you want a version that is hassle free, least bugs and problems and just want something solid. // Edit // It's been a year later and right now, Prestashop version 1.4.11 is out and also 1.5.4.1 Would you still install 1.5.4.1 over the 'bug-free' 1.4.11 ?

Since devs completely redoing 1.5 version(not sure if true), should i install 1.4.11 or 1.5 for a new website? Which version will be harder to update later? And for my current 1.4.6.2 web store , which version to update? 1.4.11 or 1.5.4 or wait for a "new" 1.5. Thanks

I found 500 internal server error with the admin page on my fresh install. My hosting (Ipage.com) said there is nothing wrong with the hosting: =============== Hello, I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I have checked and the issue seems to be with the customization of the application, plugins or modules. There are no error logs to check further on the issue. Hence, I would request you to contact Prestashop support for further assistance. Prestashop forum link: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/ If you have any further questions, please update the Support Console. Sincerely, Raxx...xxxton Technical Specialist ===============
