I am using PrestaShop 1.4.8.2 My issue is every time a user adds an item to the cart the force compile setting in the back office> preferences> performance changes from "No" to "yes" This slows the site down considerably and the page loading is very slow I have to keep going into the back office several times a day to revert it back to "No" To make the site load quicker Any help on how to keep this setting from changing would be much appreciated Cheers Webbit

Hi all, I just used the auto upgrade module to upgrade my site from Prestashop 1.4.3 to 1.5.4.1 (I think) and it completed successfully. I loaded my homepage and the images didn't appear. As a result I thought I should recompile my theme and did so by using the Smarty options via the Performance tab. I selected the force compilation button and clicked save. I reloaded my site via the FO and BO and now neither work. Instead I get a blank white screen on both. Can someone please tell me how I fix this issue and get my site back online please. I commented out the date of birth in the authentication.tpl for the default theme to remove that option for the customer account creation. In performance I have force compile selected.Under that cache is disabled. After uploading the modified file and refreshing the page, I still see the Date of Birth question. It seems that force compile is not enough to make the change. What needs to be done?

Whenever I make a modification to a .tpl file, the changes to the page appear when the browser is refreshed even though the template cache is set to "never recompile template files". The page loads quickly, suggesting to me that the templates are not being compiled at each page load. Why are the changes to the .tpl files showing up in this manner? This wasn't happening last night, but is this morning - and i don't recall changing anything between than and now,

I cannot change my Smarty, Force compile setting I select 'yes' , click save and it shows up as 'no' again This has happened before then fixed itself But I wasn't happy so I then did a new re-install, the problem was then fixed Then today the same issue has returned I'm thinking its to do with the Prestashop engine and not the database Any suggestions? Has anybody experienced this as well? Thanks

пишу эту тему в частности для того чтобы не повторять одно и тоже тысячу раз, а давать ссылку Все мы знаем, что при редактировании шаблона, для того чтобы увидеть текущие изменения в магазине на фронтенде, необходимо на вкладке Preferences - Perfomance в разделе Smarty установить опции Force Compile - Yes Cache - No Ну знаем и знаем, я и сам как попугай эту мантру повторяю каждый раз, но меня всегда смущало, что директория /tools/smarty/compile/ "заполняется файлами", а /tools/smarty/cache/ нет (кроме отдельных случаев, о них ниже), и вот вчера из-за одного проекта я таки изучил этот вопрос и сделал выводы во-первых заглянул в конфиг смарти, а там $smarty->caching = false; o_O во-вторых сразу выводы чтобы не мусолить: кэширование смарти для общих страниц (товары, категории ит.д.) в Престашоп не используется. Используется для отдельных модулей аля blockcategories (на престалаб была статья-перевод по поводу кэширования модулей, я увы не изучил тему на тот момент) опцию Cache в настройках Смарти в админке нефиг дергать, она не работает, не понимаю почему ее не закаментили давно. принудительное активирование кэша в конфигах, приводит к печальке, темплейты кэшируются не персонифицировано, выглядит это как "один и тот же товар для любой страницы товара" предположительно можно реализовать кэширование самостоятельно, передавая $cache_id в $smarty->display вторым параметром, я сделал эксперимент с категориями, получилось, но видны баги в тайтлах.. корчое предполагаю что сделать можно, просто реализация, валидация ит.д. ложится на вас выводов по быстродействию нет, предполагаю что на фоне использования других уровней кэширования - ситуация сглаживается Такое, ни о чем, но может кому-то пригодится) P.S. изменил название на более понятное

Bonjour, Je vous écris pour avoir de l'aide car je ne comprends pas du tout le problème. Pour le développement, j'avais mis le cache à false et force compile à true (via le fichier smarty.compile.inc car mon onglet performance a disparu du back office). Avec cette caractéristique, tout fonctionne bien. Pour accélérer les chargements de page et une fois mes modifs fini, j'ai mis le cache à true et force compile à false, et là, à mon grand désarroi, plus rien ne fonctionne. Quand j'ajoute un produit au panier, l'ajax ne se met pas à jour et le panier est toujours vide. De la même manière, je ne peux me connecter ou me déconnecter sur le site. Bref, plus rien ne se met à jour. Quelqu'un a-t-il déjà eu un souci similaire ou aurait une piste pour m'aider ? Pour info, j'ai supprimé par ftp les dossiers \tools\smarty\compile et \tools\smarty\cache

Hi ! I have a weird problem that started to occur today... I've the Performance Smarty settings set to Force Compile - yes and Cache no But I still get the cached version. I have to manually delete the smarty cache/compile folder to see any change made to TPL files... which is very annoying. Anyone had the same issue ? I googled it a bit, but didn't find a clear answer. PS version is 1.4.8.2

Hi all I have made a change to my themes, order-confirmation.tpl file and need to recompile it. I can turn force recompile on and make a purchase and I am guessing that will recompile the page. But is there an official or better way to force a page to recompile. Thanks

Hello Everyone, I'm new to prestashop and using the version 1.4.4.1. I've manually deleted files in tools/smarty and smarty_v2 to make effective changes to the shop theme. Now, things look fine except all the categories containing products. Those categories are showing up in the front office like when you able force compile in the back office. And the rest of the website looks great. Did someone knows something about that type of issue. - Layered Navigation module is disable - htaccess regenerated - Force compile set NO - Cache set YES - Use Smarty 2 instead of 3 set NO Thank you in advance for your help never mind I did fix it

I cannot locate the performance subtab in preferences - I thought it was between Search and Geolocation but there is nothing in Preferences that I can see. As a result I cannot Force Compile and cannot update my CleanShop theme. Any suggestions? Also, I cannot get anymore than 2 categories showing on my home page - I have 3 subcategories in home but only two of them show. TIA Nethen Bob
