Hi all! is the first time I write in the community, although I read you a lot and is very useful. I have a problem, I am uptating my PS 1.6 to 1.7. I know PS 1.6 uses this encryption methond md5(_COOKIE_KEY_.$passwd) but we converted it to md5($passwd) previusly for having compatibility with our previus shop not-prestashop. Now we want to update to 1.7 and we see that the encryption method has changed to hash(). We have achieved to log in previus users changing this function: getByEmail(), but now we want the register to work well ( saving the password as md5($plaintextpassword) ). We know that the new encyption method is much more secure and is not recommedned to use md5($plaintextpassword) but now we cannot change that. We have changed in Classes/Customer.php all lines from: //$this->passwd = $crypto->hash($password); to: $this->passwd = md5($password); But with all this changes when we register a new user, its saved as the hash() method in this format $2y$10$VPm9ygay2ldd0Vu0J4ttQuOdD/mIytURV/nXCXKs4GcB4AkIWtaQm instead of this: bcef5cffa6f4bb0abb94cf6fa7a7cb2f. I dont find where I have to change t save in the desired format? Please is very urgent, we are now struggling with this 1 week.... Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot. Jesús.

Hi there, I have configured memcached in my server using localhost for settings (127.0.01) and default port, it is enabled and should work with Prestashop. Also, I have insalled the mcrypt library for PHP (and I used it) but when I try to change the settings in the backend it does not save my configuration. Any advice ? Kind regards,

I am setting up a "dummy" e-store for research, and need to populate my database with dummy customers, products, orders, etc. Is there any way to modify my store's configuration, so that I can simply specify customer passwords in plain text in my database and login as any of my "test customers"? (I am aware why passwords are encrypted, of security risks, etc. But as I mentioned earlier, this is for a dummy store that runs on localhost only...) Alternatively (and additionally) does anybody know of any database/ dataset that contains sample orders, products, customers, etc.? Thanks.

Hi there, Paypal have suggested I ask the Prestashop experts for advice on a problem I'm having with encryption. I'm using PS 1.5.1 and once my customers have gone through the check out process, they then click the paypal option to pay. When they enter their login details an error message comes up, saying there's a temporary problem and giving error code 3005. This has happened on several browsers and over the course of 3 days now. Paypal have been working on it for a day and I just received the following message from them. Could anyone help me with the next step?: "After long consultations with our web developers and our senior members, I have found out that the problem is in the integration from the software firm. We have tried 7 times to make payment and each times comes up with different errors. There is an problem with your encryption and this is what is causing your website concerns. However no problems at all,. If you could contact the software firm (who helped create your website) and ask them to look into the encryption, they can have this rectified no problems at all." The url is www.littlegeniuscrafts.com/shop Many thanks for any help you can offer! This is losing me sales!

Hi, I'm somehow new to Prestashop, and I'm no programmer, so I'm quite lost in what to do. I got my SSL installed in my site. At first it was working everything ok, no warning, everything nice. The next day I opened the site and found this SSL warning message (in attachment). I've read different threads and all offer different solutions, but I don't know which one to apply. Usually to add the direct url in my images or files (resources) that need to be changed. But usually these posts talk about few files. Problem is in my website, when I check the Console in Chrome, it shows so many warnings I'm lost how to make this work. In the console I see basically that is loading insecure content from a bunch of .js, .css and some images.. including many files that are native to Prestashop, and not only from the template (in case is only a template problem). Another thing I noticed, is when loading the site it loads ok without the "https", this works well, when going to the shopping cart it appears the https (and the warnings), but then when I come back to the home page or any other page outside the shopping cart, it continues loading the "https", should not load without it? plain "http"? So I'm a bit lost because I see in the Console in Chrome, files that are from modules that came with the Prestashop instalation, css files and images alike. Maybe there is something else not loading correctly? or should I make an extra change somewhere else? side note: I would like to be able to use https in all the site, is that possible? http://kirschbits.de/shopPS/ thanks for any help!
