Is there any way to schedule a cron task from my module, making it general for any website?

I have looked for answers here but did not found it. I have several cronjobs running but the just don't run from one moment. How can I track down the issue? I'm using 1.6.1.2 and cron task manager 1.3.3. Maybe it stopt after the last update from cron task manager?
