Hello Prestashop people. This is my first post here, I hope I will be clear enough. Some products are not showing in the search result even if they use the same words in the product description. My shop is a vinyl record store. My catalog (more than 7000 products) is updated every morning via CRON My daily cron task: all the products are set at quantity = 0 via sql query in the database all the quantity = 0 are disabled via sql query in the database all the image are erased from the server (/p/*) the catalog is updated from a csv file via the module "Prestashop Importer - import product from csv, xls, xlsx v1.0.35" the image folder is checked and cleaned via the module "elegant image cleaner". the search index is updated completely then I have eBay synchro crons Everything's work smoothly, except that I have recently found a problem with the search result. For exemple, the research of "replica" show up only 4 results, and should at least show up 18 records. e.g. this album https://www.la-face-cachee.com/disques-vinyles-lp-records/rock/(id230460014)_atoll-l-araignee-mal-vinyl containing the word "replica" show up in the result when this one: https://www.la-face-cachee.com/disques-vinyles-lp-records/rock/(id340702941)_atoll-musiciens-magiciens-vinyl or this one https://www.la-face-cachee.com/disques-vinyles-lp-records/rock/(id356270959)_pazop-pazop-vinyl doesn't appear. They have the same description "Replica Records (4)". Of course I tried to re-build the indexation, I tried also to empty the table xx_search_index and xx_search_word, and re-index after, but I have the same bad result every times. I also tried to switch off the languages (only FR is activated now, EN is still there but deactivated), and tried to re-build the index after switching off the search option (Search within word, etc). BUT, when I open and save a missing product, it then appears on the search result. I have really no idea what to do, where to search. Does someone have an idea? Server info: PrestaShop version: 1.6.1.7 Server software version: Apache PHP version: 7.0.19 Memory limit: 1024M Max execution time: 25200 MySQL version: 5.6.35 MySQL engine: InnoDB MySQL driver: DbPDO website url: https://www.la-face-cachee.com Note : I have a mirror of the website for professionals only, all the system is the same, theme, server etc, only the catalog is different (760 products manually added) and the search result work as expected (showing all the "replica" products). Hi there... We desperately need a module (or function) that allows us to search orders depending on the products that they contain. E.g. A product we sell has some new and important information that we need (and are obligated) to pass on to the customers who bought it. But... as of right now.. there NO way we can create a search and actually find the customers who bought that product However...There is a "workaround". The Newsletter Pro module can sort recipients depending on the products that they've bought... but.. OMG it a hazzle to do it this way around. Can it really be true that there is no such module that can perform a search like that ??

Hi, i encountered an issue on catalog search in backoffice. No matter which search you make, all products are returned to me as a search result (see attachment). I also noticed that if I go to see the SQL Query that is processed on the basis of the search, it is not modified by entering the search key used. Hey guys, I am trying change the product search box, so that when a customer searches using the unique product reference, ONLY that product will show up. At the moment, the product that is being searched for, plus other similar products show up. For example, if a customer searches for NE 1001, 50 products show, with products that have similar references (eg SGI 1001 and NE 1002) also being shown. I want it to show ONLY the product with the reference that is being searched for. At the very least, I want the product with the correct reference being shown first. I am running Prestashop version 1.4.7.3 Thank you everyone for your help!

Hi, I would like to ask for help. Our site is in catalog mode. The display of prices is disabled. When I do a search on the site, the prices are displayed and I cannot remove this. The other problem is that if a product has no photo, the "default photo" that is set for products that do not have a photo does not appear in the search. How can I change this? Il se trouve que j'ai parcouru des centaines (bon j'éxagère un peu) de pages de forum (espagnol, anglais, francais, polska...) et rien ne marchait. J'ai trouvé une solution qui fonctionne et je voulais la partager avec vous au cas où certains chercheraient également! Hi to all I have a question regarding showing multiple values of "in stock" products. Right now we sell product with three kinds of availabilities - IN STOCK, IN 14 DAYS, ON REQUEST. All these availability values are now put in "Label when in stock" field of every single product(Quantity tab). In reality (FO) it means, all products availabilities are showing green values and are ok for ordering. But when I turn the stock filter in faceted search, there is no option for stock filtering. I am assuming that this is because Presta sees it all as "IN STOCK" products, which is completely fine to me. However, my customers are not able to filter the products by the availability as I wrote above (IN STOCK, IN 14 DAYS, ON REQUEST). So my question is, if it is there any solution to show the ACTUAL values of "in stock" products, so my customer could see them in the faceted search block (or anywhere else on product list). This would be very useful, because I think many eshops deliver products at different time ranges. Maybe it could be a great module on the top of the product list showing a dropdown menu or radio button for filtering availabilities. Thank you very much for any advice. Andrej

Hallo I have an issue with the search bar of my shop www.libreriasemola.it I used to run Prestashop 1.7.3 - and today updated to PS 1.7.6.5 in order to see if the problem could be solved, but it is not. the matter is simple: search bar displays no results. I tried to: - rebuild index form BO Search panel - Clear cache - Truncate ps_search_index table in database (and then restored from backup as nothing changed) I also installed an ajax search module (joli search) but it does not return any result. Hi, I ran into a problem that I see most e-commerce systems have solved, but PrestasShop has not. So, my problem is that if I include the name of a category in the search query, it does not return any results. A very trivial example. I sell shoes. I also have boots for children and adults. The category tree is the next step for a child's shoe: Childs->Footwear->Boots. The default category for a boot ist the Boots category, but also assigned to parent categories of the "Boots". And the issue is that when I type "children boots" in the search, it doesn't return any results. The product name does not even include children", just something like that : "Boots black 37" This seems to me to be a big problem, because if I sell shoes for example and there are no hits for children's shoes, it reduces the traffic. This was just a banal example, it works similarly with other categories. Thanks!

Hi. I was trying to override a class of a listing controller from this path `controllers/front/listing/CategoryController.php`. If you have issues check this post. I want to know if there is a way to filter the search query before actually searching the database. Like a where clause. I need to drop some products from the list before searching like when you write in a SQL this code: ` WHERE id_product NOT IN (1,2,3,4) `.

Bonjour à tous, Je suis nouveau dans le monde de Prestashop et je suis à la recherche d'une barre de recherche type celui de la SNCF, description de ce que je voudrais ci-dessous: Produits à vendre: Des formations avec un attribut "Dates / Regions" Les valeurs seront des strings du type: " 28 Novembre PARIS" . Un produit peut avoir plusieurs "Dates / Regions" Une barre de recherche principale: => Un champ texte ( recherche général de produits ). Lors du clique: Une div s'ouvre avec des choix, suivant les produits les plus populaire ou suivant historique de l'utilisateur. => Une champ texte ( recherche sur les attributs "date/lieu" des produits ) Si la barre de recherche est remplis: - un drop down apparaît avec les sessions existantes par rapport au produit sélectionné. Si la barre de recherche est vide: - une recherche se fait sur l'attribut date/lieu des produits. Une recherche se met en route sur le clique du bouton "rechercher". Une recherche AJAX se fait sur le remplissage du champ général et sur le champ texte (date / lieu) Ce dernier ne se met en route que si le champs général a un produit sélectionné. Bon... avec tout ça je n'ai rien trouvé qui s'en rapproche. Est ce que cela existe en module? Ou dois-je demander un développement spécial? Si c'est un dev, auriez-vous un bon contact ? Hi friends, First thanks to all fot the help you gave me. Im not a programmer, only kind of advanced user. I have a shop who some of the products have references like "s-01" or "T-01" this is with a "minus" character in the middle. This searches works well on back office, but in fron office it appears the code erases the minus and the first character "s" or "t", giving the search of the numbers only. I tried to manage the search options, keywords weight, word lenght, re-build index. (no result) I tried to edit classes/search.php to change some code that i think can delete the miinus character, but no results. Tried to edit aliases, and rebuid (nothing happens) I think is possible to add the backoffice search to the front. (I find an older threat with something from presta 1.4 but the code is significally different) In the code, the prestashop team let a note who says /* Copied from Drupal search module, except for \x{0}-\x{2f} that has been replaced by \x{0}-\x{2c}\x{2e}-\x{2f} in order to keep the char '-' */ I've searched in drupal and prestashop forums, i tried to put some unicode chars in the exceptions list. Hi all, I'm about to change PrestaShop version, but I've had this issue since the beginning, since words have weight, sometimes the most relevant result isn't on top, here is a quick example easy to understand, search for "porta talheres" https://www.artimol.pt/search?controller=search&orderby=position&orderway=desc&search_query=porta+talheres&submit_search= The "porta talheres" are in the third row, this happens because in the first places appear several products that have "porta" two times in their description, increasing their weight placement in the search function. So, what seems to me like an easy solution, is giving a weight bonus if both/all words are found, something like this: Found 1: porta talheres = 10 + 10 = 20 x 2 (bonus) = 40 Found 2: porta porta = 10 + 10 = 20 This bonus would place "porta talheres" on the top while using PrestaShop system, is this easy to implement? Hi, I'm running some tests, and the only explanation that seems plausible, is that search has a limit for word size, here are some search tests: pingente, returns c/pingente and pingente, OK sapelly, returns mogno/sapelly and sapelly, OK But working with 61623ABF0113/6162379091/61623CR017 I get mixed results: 61623ABF0113/6162379091/61623CR017, returns correctly, OK 61623ABF0113, returns correctly, OK 6162379091, no results, NOT OK 61623CR017, no results, NOT OK You could say it's because the word is at the middle/end, but it worked for the first examples, so something different is happening here, word size limit? Other? Note: Search within word: OFF Search exact end match: OFF Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks!
