Buenos dias estimados, Quisiera saber si se podria enviar un codigo unico por ejemplo un SERIAL por la compra de un producto digital, es decir yo tengo un producto digital que quiero que este cuando el cliente compre el producto le llegue un correo automatico junto con el de la compra que diga algo parecido como " aqui tu codigo XXXXXX disfrutalo ", y no tenerlo que enviarlo yo manualmente un correo a cada persona que compre el producto digital, se que se pueden adjuntar archivos al producto digital pero este seria el mismo documento para todas las compras y eso no me serviria ya que se necesita entregar un codigo unico para cada compra, quedo atento a sus comentarios. Hey there, i'm assuming the prestashop addons store is using prestashop itselft (why not to believe in their own software?) and for that reason my question is this: - you can download free products directly from the addons store. No registration, no checkout process. Just direct dowload. It is possible in prestashop? I tried adding free digital products (setting price to 0), but i still have to go through the checkout process. I just want to substitute the "add to cart" with "download for free" in product page, and allow customers to directly download from there. So, again, is this possible? Fabio

Hi there, in search of a module that puts a 'licencing' watermark into a purchased pdf I came across this module. I am wondering if anyone has any experiences with this module and if it works for both, clean pdf and zipped folders that contain pdfs. Thanks all for your feedback, here is the link. I ran into a problem today with a customer whose browser was attempting to open a digital product (a zip file) as a text file. Upon investigation I found that the MIME type being reported was text/plain rather than application/zip. The following is the header that was sent (minus the actual URL and filename). http://someurl/blah blah HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Wed, 13 Feb 2013 16:46:12 GMT Server: Apache Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="SomeFile.zip" Content-Length: 84593971 Content-Type: text/plain;charset=utf-8 I did some digging and was able to "fix" the issue by bypassing a couple of the mime detection attempts in controllers/front/GetFileController.php. Specifically I added 'false &&' onto the first two branch conditions: $mimeType = false; if (false && function_exists('finfo_open')) { $finfo = @finfo_open(FILEINFO_MIME); $mimeType = @finfo_file($finfo, $file); @finfo_close($finfo); } else if (false && function_exists('mime_content_type')) $mimeType = @mime_content_type($file); After looking at the code further, it appears that finfo_open and mime_content_type are being passed the digital file in the download directory which, by default, doesn't have an extension. I don't know the internals of either function, but could this be the reason that the functions are returning the wrong type? If so, then it could be conceivable that many other people are experiencing this problem in the Prestashop world. Any others have this issue? Is there a better fix?

Hello, I'm developing a new online shop for selling digital downloadable products. It would be very interesting and better for my business if my shop could offer the possibility to allow customers to buy and pay for the product, but offer it to a friend, girlfriend/[spam-filter], etc. For this, and since the product is a downloadable digital good, I would need the server to send an email with the download link to someone else (e-mail defined by the customer during checkout), instead of the regular customer e-mail by default. Does anyone else have similar needs and there is already some module developed with this purpose? There is a way to add an e-mail in the shipping adress and allow prestashop to use it instead of the regular customer e-mail? As you can easily understand this would allow a large increase in the number of sales if people could just offer my products to their friends, family and children, wives/[spam-filter]s, etc. I look forward for your opinion and feedback. I hope we can find a solution together, as this would surely serve many other people that sells digital goods using prestashop cart. Regards, Castaway

Note: Lots of questions here... Hello, I have a few books that I would like to add to my site, but for the 10th time of trying to upload them I sadly can not. It just sits there and does nothing at all, for over 15mins. I dont know if it is because its a pdf file or should it be a zip file? The files size is:198 MB (208,327,089 bytes) Shouldn't this be okay since the max is 256mb? Should I change something in the preferences or in ftp? Its werid because I have even tried smaller files and it just sits there and does nothing. I see that it says connecting. I have uploaded images with zip files and no problem but when trying to upload downloadable anything it does this. If it is the problem with size should I change the file type? Txt or something else? Also, is there a workaround like manually uploading it instead of waiting for this thing to act right?? Thanks in advance to whomever responds-I'm just hoping someone can help when they have time to! Any help or suggestions is great!

I have a client who had produced several teaching DVDs. About eight, with possibly more on the way. We've converted them to MP4s and even have iPhone / iPad versions of the video. Now comes the time to select a shopping cart! Presta Shop is high in the running, but I'm having reservations about the delivery of these large files. Each file is 700MB. Complicating matters, the client wants to sell the videos in bundles as well. That means either delivering as many as 8 x 700MB files or a single 6.6GB file. That seems to be a no-go in PrestaShop as a result of memory needs. To keep PrestaShop in the running, I'm thinking about merely releasing download URLs. The files will be hosted by myself, people will make a purchase and then the URLs will be released to them via email much like a product-key style transaction. How does this sound to the wiser PrestaShop implementers out there? My main concerns are: URL sharing. (Don't want people sharing the download URL, but it might not be a huge problem) URL obfuscation. (I'd really like to give a "dummy" URL that's pretty, such as ClientDomain.com/go/Video1 that in reality brings the file from mybackendserver/client1/storage/videofiles/set1/video1) Prompt delivery of the URL. What say ye? Am I mad? Am I asking for trouble? I really just want to be able to deliver many hundreds of MBs of digital product to customers in the nicest way possible without tanking my server's PHP settings.

Hello, I haven't seen this feature or maybe it doesnt exist. Is it possible to display on several pages or atleast at the product page near the price (not manually) whether the product is digital or not. Or something like (this product is digital only) For example: So, at least for my shop, I dont have the same product as digital and physical but I have some physical articles and so I cant just edit the template and write near the price digital. Hi, I sell digital downloads (videos), this works great with my files between 250Mb and 700Mb. Now I've got some HD files, 1900>2000Mb When customers try to download these, the filesize is incorrect! Eachtime a little different (a little to small), so the videos stop playing a few percent for the end. I'm 100% sure the file is ok on the server, when I download the file via http (and FTP) outside the script there is no problem. So is there something wrong with the protocol to transfer the files? Who knows this? Thx., Robert
