So I would like in the theme configurator to have an extra hook positioning except the top, left, right and footer. I have tried a lot of things one of this is creating anew hook with the following method 1. The name of my hook is bottom 2. I have added the hook in my ps_table name: displayBottom title: displayBottom 3.created the FrontController.php like this: <?php class FrontController extends FrontControllerCore{ function displayBottom() { parent::displayBottom(); $this->smarty->assign(array('HOOK_BOTTOM' => Module::hookExec('bottom'))); [spam-filter] 4. Hello my name is Marina I have the same problem I can not see the left column on the front page of my presta shop even though I have corrected the sql table and as you could see form the attached document I have enable the left column in my back office. I think i found the solution is the way you structures the folder of your prestashop templates say for example the name is test then the folder format will be like this test >> in there will be the folder named themes and Config.xml >> in themes folder should be the test_theme folder >> in the test_theme folder should be included all the files and .tpl files of your template, This is working for me. I am starting the design of my first presta shop you could see it here http://www.pandora-web-box.info/presta/index.php it is still very early I am trying in editing the very top block banner so I edit the following files Firstly I edited the templates in in blockcontact And then the css file that is under css/modules/blockcontact/blockcontact.css I am uploading the css fies under /public_html/presta/themes/default-bootstrap/css/modules/blockcontact/ but I can not see any changes. Also I can not find where is the black background in css. Do you have any idea? Regards Marina

I want to thank you all for your help. In my eleventh years of web design experience it is one of the most accurate an friendly user to the complete beginner forum. My past experience on forums was not so pleasant. As far as the overwrite either in modules or the css as I have presta shop 6, I should put the new files under the override folder. Am I correct? I am reading the user designer guide for presta shop, I would like to ask you something more about the modules, they are existing in two places either in the central path and under the theme directory. Whic one is the one that is shown in the control panel. I would like to delete all the modules and like to start from scratch which directory shall I delete? Thank you for one more time. Thank you ever so much, the thing I can not understand how the css of each different theme could be involved with controllers which are set up by default with prestashop. And if the css are involved with the modules how will I know which module fit with which css file. I hope I am not a headache but I am trying in find a way to study, do you have any reference for reading about controllers and also modules as whenevr I have looked they have only general information. It should be for example first folder theme inside should be the Config.xml and a folder named theme Finally in the theme folder should the folder with the files of the theme. I hope I was clear enough. Marina

Except of the theme issues I want to check the Technical requirements that my server needs in order to work the presta shop. I have Current PHP version: 5.4 I was thinking of installing an older version of prstashop than 6 in oorder to see if the ready made templates I have downloaded wil be installed. Regards Marina
