Hola a todos, una de las webs que he "heredado" recientemente fue montada con Joomla! + Virtuemart (VM). Por diversas razones con las que no os voy a aburrir a estas horas de la noche me gustaria pasar de dicha configuracion a PrestaShop sin tener que volver a entrar todos los datos a mano :-( Asi que la pregunta que os hago: existe algun modulo/script/metodo/truco de magia que permita volcar los datos de Joomla! e importarlos en PrestaShop? now the question would be: if older versions don't feature the new backup modes described on #1 ... which .sql file should we use to have a proper backup or migrate from one server to another? the one generated by the "Tools > Database backup"-thing or a plain mysqldump ?? regards

well, the one I'm dealing with and trying to upgrade to PS 1.4 is a very old one: PS 1.1.0.5 :-)

Hello PS-fellows! I feel a disturbance in the Force when it comes to backing up the database. Using the Tools > Database backup creates a, say 110 KB db_backup-by-pstools.sql.bz2 file but a mysqldump pstable -h pshost.tld -u psadmin -p > psbackup.sql yields a completely different result even after compression with the maximum level... Usually the mysqldump-generated files are x10 bigger than the ones created with the PS backup tool. Is there any reason for that?? and, which .sql file should I use to restore or move the PS installation to another location? Thanks and regards

Hi again, I finally reverted to the initial environment with PS 1.1.0.5 and restored the "old" database, as the upgrade process will modify it and therefore make it unusable if you just restore the PHP files... Now I have to find some time to test the upgrade process but before I do so I would like to know: can we simply upgrade from a (very) old version to the newest ones in one step? or do we have to upgrade version by version? The upgrade process never finished after 1 day running... so I refreshed the page and I got an error stating that 1.3.7 was already installed. I logged onto the backoffice and... all icons are gone... and even though the modules/ directory is full of stuff (valid modules), they won't show up under the "Modules"-tab ... Any ideas? Thanks!

hmm... el paso "4. Update is complete!" aun no se ha iluminado... estoy tomando eso como la señal de un acabado exitoso...

1. a que te refieres con "lenta"? 2. por casualidad tienes ONO como proveedor? Hace un tiempo tenia los mismos sintomas y tuve que llamarlos para que revisaran los equipos. Resulto ser un problema en la cabecera de mi zona... Quizas estos problemas con el router sean la causa de que veas la tienda lenta... Si nos pasas el link podremos comprobar que tal carga desde otros lugares... Saludos

Hola a todos, en algun lado he leido que el tiempo para actualizar PS puede rondar las 3-5 horas dependiendo de la potencia del servidor... He dejado el proceso de actualizacion (PS 1.1.0.5 -> 1.3.7) corriendo toda la noche y no ha terminado aun !! O_O El paso 3 muestra "Your configuration is valid, click next to continue!" (Tu configuracion es valida, click siguiente para continuar", la barra de proceso hace "algo" pero, honestamente, no se en que punto esta... y temo interrumpir el proceso o refrescar la pagina por si me cargo algo... Asi que esto es una llamada a todos los "Actualizadores de PrestaShop": nos podeis contar la experiencia? Tomo tanto tiempo el proceso? Si tenemos suficiente informacion quizas podramos obtener un tiempo medio estimado para las actualizaciones... Muchas gracias por la ayuda! --mm242

Hi all, as I previously posted in other thread, I read that the update could take up to 3-5 hours... so far, so good. I left the updater (PS 1.1.0.5 -> 1.3.7) running all night long and, guess what?, it still hasn't completed the process!! O_O Step 3 shows "Your configuration is valid, click next to continue!", the progress bar does "something" but progressing and I honestly have no idea how far it's gone... so I'm rather afraid to interrupt the process or refresh the page just in case I could mess something up... So this is a call to all PrestaShop Updaters out there: please tell us about your experiences. Did the process take so long? If there's enough feedback we might be able to create an estimate average time for the update process... Thanks for your help! --mm242

The BACKUP process will not tell you that the database already exists... it looks like you are trying to create a DB which is already there... please review your procedure. Buena suerte :-) -mm242

I feel your pain :-) Same here... I'm updating from 1.1.0.5 (yikes!) to 1.3.7 and the process has been running for a couple of hours now after I also restarted it because I thought it hung... The process bar doesn't even move... it just shows the "rotating"-effect and there's no message for the estimated time... so I can't tell how it's processing... if ever. I read somewhere that it might take 3 to 5 hours, depending on how fast the server is... :-/ Maybe someone with more experience could shed some light on this... it would be good to know the average time, even though I assume that everything will depend on a lot of factors... but a ball park figure would be interesting, so we don't desperate waiting :-)

Gracias por la aclaracion... no obstante sigue sin cuadrarme una cosa... Copio y pego: -- Lo correcto sería 0g – 130g (130g no incluido) 130g – 260 g (260g exactos no están incluidos) 260g- 390g (390g exactos no están incluidos) etc. etc. -- Si el peso base de 1 CD es 130 g, segun esta tabla, si un cliente compra 2 CDs pagaria los costes de envio de 3... O me estoy dejando algo atras? disculpa si ando algo espeso... Saludos

hmm... sigue sin convencerme :-) Mis rangos iniciales eran: 0 g - 130 g 131g - 260 g [...] En ficha del producto definia el peso del mismo en 130 g (es lo que pesa un CD, o eso me dijo el cliente ) y al probar el proceso de compra ocurria la anomalia que describes: PS no sabe que hacer con el peso y aplica el precio maximo del transportista. Por eso me ha extrañado que la solucion fuera: 0 g - 131 g 131.1 g - 261 g 261.1 g - 391 g [...] Es mas rapido modificar la tabla de pesos que todos los productos ;-) Desconocia que PS interpretase 1 Kg como 999.9999 g ... De todos modos, siempre ha sido un tema de debate/confusion a la hora de configurar los rangos de pesos/cantidades para los diferentes metodos de transporte. Saludos, -mm242
