I am not sure what the old password was, Can I get to the required PHP area, that is, Where ?

Since I have decided to change the password in the Presta shop area Preferences > Database > Password. My site just wont come up at all, What's going on here ? All I get is "The database selection cannot be made." PLEASE HELP !!!
