Is this where I add any and all links that I don't want to be counted as duplicate content?

I see. I already had a robots.txt file in my root directory. I don't quite see how this helps. If I need to add a line of code, do I add the following at the bottom of the text document or something else? <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, FOLLOW">

Not that I can tell. They are marked as guest carts- guest not registered and no order created from account.

I have strange patterns of shopping carts in my back-end. They have happened every since I opened my site (a year ago) and new ones come up every once in a while but they don't stop. but they pile up bad. They also create duplicate content in my seo. Currently, there are several different of these carts that are exactly the same price and same product and they are created every other day. For example. a cart of $63 shows up every other day. A cart of $119.22 shows up every other day. A cart of $42 shows up every other day, and so on. Some of these are created every day. This is driving me nuts because it lasts forever!

I have almost 250 duplicate page title errors in an SEO report. Each one of the duplicate links that I looked up goes to a webpage of a ghost shopping cart. Strange enough, I go to my backend and find the shopping cart only after I go to that shopping cart page from the report. I understand that I should block my shopping cart pages by either using noindex meta tags or block them in the robots.txt file. However, I'm not sure how. (I did see a forum topic for a line of code but it was for a different reason. Is the code the same?) What is the best way to correct this issue?

Okay, wrong wording. So in the file- do you just add those lines underneath the last RewriteRule or does it matter where that code is inserted?

vekia, how do you add that code into the .htaccess folder? Should I simply add those two lines after the last RewriteRule line?
