At the first glance I would say that you're using Presta 1.4 for your shop (or even older) and I suppose your issue would be in regards to the cache and cookies. Pls. delete your Cached files trough the FTP, and let us know how it worked out . Hi I could do that, there is no question about it, but I'm just wondering if this is what you want, as the bar would be above the header, it will confuse user(you'll have to header bars), also from user behavior and eye tracking point of you, the created two blue lines would just cut the eye view and create frustration. (We're working in the marketing field around 12 years - it's a working habit, to comment on parts that would probably not give the expected value) . Hi I've made a routine check, and you're right, you're site full load is around 12 + seconds. There are several issues with actually the theme you bought : 1. Your images are not scaled - this could save you up to 500 kb 2. Your server is not configured properly : you don't use GZIP (you should try activate gzip trough htaccess) 3. There are some resources missing a cache validator (images again ) 4. The theme you bough doesn't use sprite images 5. Ridiculously : the theme uses inline css and inline javascripts. If you solve all of this probably you're site speed will be on full load around 2-3 sec max. We could fix this for you in case you think you can't solve it yourself. Anyway the above points will basically solve your issues. Unfortunately as mentioned in several post bought themes, usually don't care about page speed optimization, landing page optimization, duplicate content - the design needs to look great and that will generate sales(for them not for the buyer) . Hi Not sure if you found an answer to it, but this is more like a logical solution than actually a programming one. What I would do is the following : 1. Create a product with assorted apples : 100 pieces in 5 colors (red, orange, green, blue, white) LEt them buy the product only by creating an account. After they made the payment. Create a Group that is called "Best customer - or whatever else" . 2. Create a Category in Presta and set it up to be visible only for that group. 3. Create one or as many products you want for the separated color apples. Allow the products to be visible only for that specific group. 4. Now what will happen is when the customer returns and enters into his account he'll be capable to see a different category that will hold those products. This is only one variant, you can just create the products and setup to be visible for a certain group...etc. I hope it helped. Kind Regards Leo

Do you have root access to your server (not FTP ), I'm asking because you could kill the Apache Daemon in order to restart the server. 2. Do you have a CPanel ...normally you should be able to restart it from there ? 3. Send a notice to the hosting company asking to restart the server.

Did you restarted the server ? The Php.ini will be configured only after you'll restart the server. ? Lets' hope this is how simple the problem is

Could you increase PHP's memory limit from 16 Mb to 32 Mb? Do you have access to php.ini ? If so, search for memory_limit and change the value to 32M If not, do you have a .htaccess file in your Presta website root folder? If so, add the following line: php_value memory_limit 32M Regards

What setting are you talking about? Presta permits using unlimited number of themes, for a single shop. If you're talking about general settings, like shipping etc, those are of course the same for each theme (that's normal) We're are using on our shops like 6-7 themes in general and alternating them in regards to seasonality, like Easter, Valentine day, Christmas etc. I hope I answered your question. When it comes to hosts I would recommend www.Carpathiahost.net , We're using them from like 10 years already , from minor, satellite projects till mammoth ones, with several 100k visitors. Anyway before you go on changing your server, at least send me your URL, as 99% of the cases the server is not faulty for this slow speed. Reasons for it could be : 1. Wrongly made template (90% of the presta templates are a total mass(personal idea), they use inner-line CSS, they are not cut in a professional way, using like 2 billion requests in order to use only 1 images, and leave the rest for the CSS. Each request eats a lot out from your speed) 2. Module like a slider, what hasn't been optimized well - all your slider images are like 600Kb (and you have like 4 ) , huge mistake, all images needs to be web-optimized (frequent presta setup problem, images uploaded in png, and than used as a jpg ) 3. 3d party modules - they add, each a new css, a new js etc...(it just makes me cry when I see project full with bought 3d party modules written in a beginner style, where elements a missing , creating 404 requests, and using a different css than the global one + not well written JS(usually copied)) Send me a URL, and I'm willing to tell you at least if you need a different host or not. A location of your business would be nice also, in order to choose a test server from the same country There are some other parts, that could be the reason for it, but if I'm telling you " I'll need to ....you " - just kidding. Hi Firstly , if you have some luck it could work, but even in that case not everything will be workable. The difference is that the new 1.5 Presta uses different classes, and ID's . The design needs to be cut-ed in a different way, it needs to be done in CSS3 and not CSS 2, also there are some variables that are different in the new Presta, and that will cause your site to be malfunction. We could help you out, but unfortunately, that job wouldn't be for free. Anyway, if you seriously want it, please send me a mail, but I would suggest rather to buy a new layout.
