Login with PayPal & Express Checkout not working
applecart_girl replied to stickouk's topic in PayPal
This is ridiculous! One of the most important payment modules for our Prestashop sites is not working! Instead of sending out newsletters encouraging us to buy more modules - perhaps Prestashop should be alerting us to fixes that need to be made in order to keep our shops running smoothly. Arrrrgggghhhh !! After updating my API credentials, my PayPal v3.8.4 module is not working again. Customers can click through and enter payment details, but PayPal doesn't process payment and just reloads the same payment page. Have enabled 'debug' but no errors showing up on site. Customer can't make payment and I lose sales. Not happy. Off to try more solutions ... -
Me too .. getting tired of PayPal errors and lack of documentation!! Considering payment modules are the number one modules we need to collect sales $$ smoothly and effectively, it baffles me why these modules (PayPal in particular!) experience so many issues so often and with seemingly no sense of urgency or importance to get them working well in Prestashop. Off to find another payment processor ... and possibly another e-commerce platform along with it

Login with PayPal & Express Checkout not working
applecart_girl replied to stickouk's topic in PayPal
I also had a problem with mine around this time. I uninstalled the module, downloaded fresh from PS Addons and put in API credentials again. One important point to note is NOT to cut and copy API password, or if you do, at least delete the last few characters and input manually. I found if I cut and pasted all information, the module wouldn't work. It was only by chance I decided to delete password and enter manually that I got it working. Hope this helps someone -
@Blak Melbourne I had to email via Prestashop Addons to get install instructions for PayPal's Website Hosted Payments Pro - I gather this is what you mean by 'PayPal Gateway'? Still haven't got it working though, the install instructions are long and hard to follow

I tried and failed several times when upgrading my 1.4 PS store. I agree with bellini13 you MUST have a test site to do this without breaking your store. I've never been able to successfully setup a test site, so yesterday I tried to upgrade from 1.6.0.9 - 1.6.11 on my working site and BAM ... BROKEN! I recommend anyone with any concerns about upgrading themselves to checkout http://www.whitefirdesign.com/services/web-software-upgrades.html Dodgy looking website, but amazing service given by John and team. They really no their stuff and upgraded my 1.4.0.7 store to 1.6.11. Only issues we had were with my old hosting service at Crazy Domains, which couldn't handle the new PS software, so I moved the upgraded over to Blue Host VPS and wa-lah PS 1.6.0.9 working like a dream Good luck with the upgrade MeowsTheTimes!

Hi Katy, I had the exact same thing yesterday! After upgrading the previous time using the 1 click upgrade module to 1.6.0.9 successfully I thought I would do it again this time ... BAD move. I had to contact my hosting team (in my case Blue Host) and ask them how to restore my site from a backup made yesterday. Took all day to finally do it (had issues also on Blue Host side of things) and PS 1.6.0.9 backup not working completely as it should. Also lost images from products I had added since January Anyways, my suggestion would be to restore to a previous backup with help from your web host. Once done, make sure you do a test order. I would also update your PayPal module and reset with new API credentials if you have issues with any issues with the payment side of things. I'm also going through and selectively resetting (or uninstall then reinstalling) modules which don't seem to be working as they should. Bottom line, we need to make sure upgrades are done on a test site first, to avoid all this drama (and loss of sales!). Good luck with it all x

Hi everyone I'm able to change TPL and CSS files to customise the default 1.6 theme myself, however once I UPGRADE a module I lose some of my modifications. I have looked through the PS guides and tutorials but can't find which files I should be editing so that they aren't effected by upgrades. I think I may need to make over-ride file copies possibly? But not sure where to save them or how to set them up. Can anyone tell us non-developers what to DO and NOT DO when making changes to a theme so that we can upgrade seamlessly as module upgrades are available. Any hints, tips or links to articles on making changes to your Prestashop theme would be greatly appreciated, so we don't end up screwing up our stores in the long run. Thanks so much

Configuring order reference ?
applecart_girl replied to Mister Denial's topic in OUT - 1.6.0.11 [7 Jan 2015]
@vekia - sadly I just upgraded my store from 1.4.7.0 to 1.6.0.7 and this module doesn't work I'm afraid. Anyone else know how this can be changed? I'm with @Mr Denial ... it's much easier to look up an order with numbers in order rather than random letters - argh !!! -
Hi I'm trying to make my Prestashop customer invoice show the 'description' of a discount on their order. Currently the discount line shows: text Discount: xxxxxx (discount code) then discount total -$xx.xx. I want to include the description of the discount so that customer knows why they received that discount. Can anyone help with what to change in invoice.tpl or pdf.php ?? Please see attached with what I want to do. I'm comfortable with changing code myself. Thanks for your help !

Can anyone help with a little error I'm getting in the links and images on my website? I've transferred over to a new server and the theme and everything is loading ok, but the product images aren't loading and when I click on an image or a product name/link it goes to the website + product web address but with a little space and an extra forward slash in the address. Hence I'm unable to get to the product page and this shows instead: (Blank page) mywebsite.com/ /content/5-about-us When the web address should actually read (and therefore load up properly) like this: mywebsite.com/content/5-about-us Anyone know where I go to fix this? Checked the settings.inc files but can't find anything. Thanks so much for anyones help and assistance

Thanks El Patron, I found these and changed them but still no luck. Refreshed page and everything. Tried to get to back office admin but 500 Internal Server error came up again. There was an error on the front office before about the Category ID and the smarty_internaldata file, could that be the reason for the space in the website address perhaps ?????

Hi everyone I copied my website + database and transferred it to another server so I could setup a 'test site'. It has a different domain name, naturally. I've tried a couple of times now and have various issues on the front end (which I can fix), however I can't go to the back office/admin to redo the htaccess file or anything else for that matter as it throws up a 500 Internal Server Error: Internal Server ErrorThe server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@xxxx.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Can anyone shed some light on why I'm unable to access the admin area now? - I'm running Prestashop 1.4.7.0 - My database doesn't have a ps_shop table to change the domain name, which I think is causing a problem. It doesn't have a ps_config table with PS_SHOP_DOMAIN or PS_SHOP_DOMAIN_SSL either ... so where can I put in the new domain name ???? - I can see the front end of the website ok and some links work properly, other links redirect to the live site and links to products are adding in an extra 'space' in the url causing it to redirect to a blank page eg. http://mysite.com/xxxxxx.html redirects to http://mysite.com/ /xxxxxx.html with that little space in there - therefore no page loads, just the page address - Error reporting has been turned on, but the above message is all I get. The error log on my server doesn't shed anymore light either, just says the page doesn't exist - the htaccess file has been deleted So does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do? I've reloaded both the database and FTP files several times ... now I'm stuck :/

Did you fix this goodstitch? You need to get your API details from PayPal to enter into the PayPal module in Prestashop. Login to PayPal and got to -->Profile, then -->My Selling Tools, then -->API Credentials-update It will give you 2 options. Choose Option 2 -->View API Signature It will then give you your API username, API Password and Signature. Login to your prestashop admin, navigate to your PayPal module, click on 'Configure', then 'Settings', enter in your PayPal account email address, your 3 API credentials and make sure Sandbox Mode is set to 'Inactive'. Is this what you did in the first place? I hope I haven't doubled up on info you already know! LOL Hope something here helps.

Can anyone help please?! My store has been using PayPal for payments for last couple of years without a hiccup, but from today, when someones clicks on the button 'I confirm my order' and is redirected to the PayPal website the following error is shown on the PayPal page: Sorry — your last action could not be completed If you were making a purchase or sending money, we recommend that you check both your PayPal account and your email for a transaction confirmation after 30 minutes. If you came to this page from another website, please return to that site (don't use your browser's Back button) and restart your activity. If you came from PayPal's website, click the PayPal logo in the upper-left corner to return to our home page and restart your activity. You might have to log in again. Customers can't make payments via PayPal and I don't know why. This has never happened before and has just started today. Can anyone help with some info???? PLEASE I need to fix this asap. Thank you to anyone who can shed some light on this issue for me

Payment Paypal change text
applecart_girl replied to BnB's topic in Configuring and using PrestaShop
Hi BnB I use 1.4.7 but it might be similar in 1.5.1 ... Go to Modules, PayPal, Payment, find the payment.tpl file and edit your text there Hope this helps -
Hi nancy99 Your shop will be in maintenance mode, but you can still see your shop because you added your IP address into the Maintenance settings. This means that whilst it is on 'Maintenance' mode no-one else can view the website except for those IP addresses that you have allowed (in this case yours). If you go back into Preferences -> Maintenance then remove your IP address and save, you will then see that your shop is in Maintenance when you go to the website (just as yours customers would). Hope this helps

Hi all! I have just added a new carrier to my shop and now give the option for delivery by courier. The courier requires a signature on delivery, but if no one is home they leave a card and the customer has to arrange for re-delivery of their parcel. I'd like to offer the option for delivery (in check box format if possible) of either; - Authority to leave parcel if no-one is home - Signature required on delivery, do not leave parcel if unattended I was thinking I could add the check boxes on the 'choose your delivery method' page (just above the 'add a comment about your order' message box. Could anyone offer any advice on what I should add to the order-address.tpl file to acheive this? Thanks for your help !!
