  1. Hi Madmartin, I just saw this post you left regarding the one click upgrade, I have never been able to make it work & each time it has crashed the site & my developer, has had to restore the site from back-ups! I see that there is a pay for one-click module, I wonder if that works better & if so why doesn't the free one work! I would like someone who is an expert to explain is it because my PS site is quite complex & that it works fine for simpler site, because when I queried it before on the forum, many people said they had, had the same experience as me, that they could never get it to work. So I st6opped using it & pay my Developer to upgrade the PS each time. I have recently received a message from PS market place stating that they released an upgrade for it, however when I clicked on the link in the email & tried to find the new module I couldn't, so I search for it, still couldn't find it. I contacted PS customer services to inform them, that the link wasn't working & that I manually searched & still couldn't find the upgrade & got a not very helpful or accurate reply, as I followed the instructions exactly & still no module upgrade available! As I always say I am not perfect & that I am not a Developer or IT expert & that it could be partly ME, however when one askes for help, one expects that the help be professional & accurate. They could have sent me a link that would take me directly to the module but didn't, they sent me instructions, which were exactly what I had already followed & still no upgrade, maybe I am misunderstanding something, however customers service is not helping me understand what is going wrong! We can be keep trying
  2. Hi Pepperoni I have read your string with great interest, I don't know if you will see my enquiry let alone have the time or interest in responding to it, however; here goes. Firstly from what I read of what you wrote, there is yet another basic flaw in PS base system, in that it only allows for the carriers URL tracking refence as a way of tracking or sorting outgoing packages & that you cleverly have figured away to allow this happen with the post code as well. Yet what I want to know is if this is supposed to be a community lead open source platform, why has your work not been included in one of the latest version of PS. In fact there have been many good ideas & workarounds I have seen which PS just seems to ignore. Is there a place in the forums or anywhere that we, as users can register upgrade ideas/requirements, such as yours where users & developers can vote for what we think is a good idea for the next incarnation of PS, so that the powers to be at PS can see what the users want as a priority & what can wait? My real question that I was looking for an answer to which lead me to your post is how to I find out what is the best carrier interface for PS, I have been trying to researching the addition of a module that interfaces with my choice of carriers & its a minefield, because of they way PS sells through its market place, there does not appear to be away of comparing them or clearly understanding what the pros or cons of each module are. Mostly they seem to be very expensive label printers from within PS , & that all the tracking & sorting is done by the carrier, can you point me at a place on the internet where I can find out honest reviews that helkp me understand what these modules do or don't do. Apologies for taking up your time but I am lost on the carrier interface issue?? Kind Regards Snob
  3. Thank you Klemart3D for taking the time to help me with the upgrade, You obviously didn't see my first posting on this forum, regarding one click upgrade, this not only crashed the PS Module manager it crashed the whole back office & my store, I had to do a rollback! I had one person posted a fix but I am not competent enough to understand what they were saying & various people have said that didn't work for them either so as I am not a developer I don't feel confident to do what he suggests in case it goes wrong OK I FINALLY got it to work. When I log into the admin and click the 1-click upgrade, as with most people here the VERSION COMPARISON was stuck in a loop, and clicking the Upgrade button did nothing. So still don't know what to do next?? Here's how I fixed it: 1. Go to https://addons.prestashop.com/en/data-migration-backup/5496-.html to download the latest version of PrestaShop's 1-Click Upgrade Module. (The page says version 1.8 but after you sign in and click the Download button, you'll see that it lets you download version 3.0.3 if you're trying to upgrade PS 1.7.1 2. Connect to your site using FTP, navigate to /modules and DELETE the entire autoupgrade folder 3. Unzip the autoupgrade 3.0.3 file you downloaded from Prestashop and inside you will find a folder named 'autoupgrade'. Upload this ENTIRE folder to your /modules directory. 4. When the upload is finished, confirm the folder permission is set to 755. Every file and folder inside should have these same permissions. If you're using FileZilla you can just right-click on the autoupgrade folder, select 'File Permissions'. Change the permission to '755', then be sure to check the box 'Recurse into subdirectories' and be sure to select 'apply to all files and directories' 5. Next, while still connected with FileZilla, go up on level (to the root) and then drill down into your admin folder (it will begin with 'admin' followed by random letters and numbers) 6. Inside of your admin folder, you will find another 'autoupgrade' folder. You need to change the permissions on this folder using the SAME method described above. 7. Once you have updated the autoupgrade module and set the permissions on BOTH folders, log into your site and click 1-Click Upgrade, wait for the version comparison to finish and it should work. 8. logout admin if you are login
  4. Thank you Klemart3D for taking the time to help me I have checked with my service provider & spoke with a more experienced tech this time & he informed me that the service I require is a standard on their servers & it is already running! The error is apparently another PrestaShop bug, in 1.7.6, so I am going to have to try & do an upgrade to 1.7.6.3 & see if it that cures the error code when I try to activate PrestaShop webservice! Are there any links that help a newbie to manually upgrade/update the prestashop version to the latest version?
  5. Can anyone answer this question: My developer has created an API to connect my business database with my PS store, I have followed the instructions & everything went as it should, until it checked for the Apache module & the message that came back was: [Please activate the 'mod_auth_basic' Apache module to allow authentication of PrestaShop's webservice.] I have checked with my hosting company & they have told me they don't run ['mod_auth_basic' Apache module] they run [From the Authentication modules, we can enable mod_auth_digest] I am not a developer & have no idea what the differences is can anyone enlighten me? Will this do the same thing or not???
  6. You need to get your hosting company to do a roll back to a good known date I had the hosting company fix all the issues that were thrown at us by the one click failures & even had the hosting company run the processes themselves with all the monitoring that they could do, in the end they gave up & said its a PrestaShop issue, nothing to do with their servers! PrestaShop has just ignored me & someone else posted give up on it & do it manually!
