Adding custom CSS and JS to the backoffice Prestashop 1.7.8.7

I am trying the same thing. Edit the overrides.css file and no change to the admin output. I am on PS 8.1.7 and the problem still appears to exist. -
I like a lot of things about PS 8.1 but what really frustrates me is trying to edit the email templates. The new system is very confusing and in my case, any time I edit a template using the Translations process, I get a 403 Forbidden error. I have been getting by manually editing the templates but it is very awkward. Certainly the developers of this new Prestashop did not release it with a very important function like this not working. Has anyone else encountered this and if so, did you find a fix? thanks, Henry

No shops are associated with this account. {Solved}

Prestashop support fixed the problem! Apparently when we changed from the subdomain where we developed the new store, something got 'stuck' and our new store was still sort of connected to the subdomain. Don't ask me what they did exactly but they fixed the problem. There is hope! -

What is X-Corp? I open a ticket with Prestashop but there was no response. Have no idea what module would cause this. -

We are running PS 8.1.7 We developed our new store on PS 8.1.7. We were replacing PS 1.6 shop. We set up the new store on a subdomain. We installed Prestashop Connect, PS Marketplace and PS Checkout on new store. Testing was looking good. Moved to production and that is when problems started. We disassociated the test connection using the subdomain but are not able to connect to the proper domain. Instructions online are not very clear. I have check the ps_configuration database to make sure all references to the subdomain are gone but still not working. Changing the domain created the issue but I cannot find a way to fix it. -

Module updates for modules already updated
A Bit of Home replied to A Bit of Home's topic in Configuring and using PrestaShop
Hi, I looked in the ps_module table and see the modules in question listed. The version number is the pre-upgrade value that shows on the module page. However, when I look at the config.xml file in the module's folder, it is showing the new version. The timestamps on the files are also new. The ps_module_history table seems to show the previous update day but for some reason, not all of the modules are listed in the history table. Very confused about what is going on. I don't know what versions we are running or how to get things back in sync. The error message when trying to update is not very helpful either. -
I got a list of about 7 external modules that showed that there were updates available. I was a little surprised why there were so many since I usually apply the updates very shortly after receiving them but I went ahead applying the updates. When I tried to apply the updates, I received an error message that the update failed. I tried several times with no success. I then decided to look at the files via ftp and I see that the version on the files IS the new version. The modules page still shows that the updates are needed however. Anyone else encounter this and/or knows how to 'reset' the modules listing to what is actually installed? Thanks,

I have a similar problem. All I did was remove a row from a table in bottom section of the order_conf template and now the email has rows and tables out of alignment and position. the HTML view is perfect, just the email. I see many others with this issue so I see this as a bug. I am using PS 8.1.7.

I have run into a problem running PHP 7.2 on my PS 1.6.1.24 store. Trying to access the CMS pages from admin for editing returns a HTTP 500 error. No problem on PHP 7.1. I wanted to upgrade the PHP version so I can install PS v8 in a subdomain to develop as a replacement for the old store. Sadly PS v8 is not supported on PHP 7.1 so I am kind of stuck as to what to do.

After many years we have decided to upgrade our Prestashop 1.6.1.24 site. We figured we might as well go with the latest v8.1.5. We will need time to develop the new site and install new modules to replace the old ones. We were hoping to install the v8 on the same server as 1.6 and migrate the data when the new site it ready. We thought we could install v8.1.5 in a subfolder and point our domain to that subfolder when the site is ready. I have read that there is a problem installing v8 in a subfolder if you go with the Prestashop SA package. If we can't put it in a subfolder, how can we install it on the same server as our live 1.6 shop? Anybody else ecounter this issue? thanks, Henry

In the past we purchased several modules from MyPresta. The developer back then was quick to respond to issues. Now we are having problems with one of the modules. We paid to upgrade to the latest version but that did not fix the problem. In fact, more problems were created and our error logs are quickly filling up. At first the developer responded but has now stopped completely. We are about to upgrade to Prestashop 8 and will need to purchase many new modules. We will not be buying any from MyPresta this time.

Dashboard Activity Overview stuck on loading
A Bit of Home replied to joaoafpedro's topic in General topics
I had the same problem that started shortly after our upgrade to PS 1.6.24. I read on another post that you should check the IP entry under "Preferences -> Maintenance". Somehow a comma got added to the Maintenance IP address. I just deleted the comma and the problem was immediately fixed. Hope this help you. -
Javascript not loading sometimes (1.6.1.17)
A Bit of Home replied to A Bit of Home's topic in General topics
Hi, Just wanted to update you on our progress. We had A2 set us up on PHP 7 and it does seem to help with the performance. We are having them look into the database issues. I think that is where the real problem is but we can't put our finger on what. -

Thank you for the advice. I will approach the technical support at A2 Hosting to see if they can test the PHP 7 configuration and look into what could be happening with the database. -

Thank you for the tip! It tried the setting and I see a massive amount of information. I will have to study this because I am not to sure what I am looking for. To answer your earlier question about our homepage, I am including a snip of part of the debug info from our home page. thanks, Henry -
Javascript not loading sometimes (1.6.1.17)
A Bit of Home replied to A Bit of Home's topic in General topics
We have about 50 categories and around 2,000 products. About 50 have combinations, the rest do not. The response time is the crazy thing. Sometimes a page will load in 2 seconds, sometimes it can take 20 or more. It is very inconsistent. I think that is why it has been difficult to find what is going wrong. I don't know if it is a clue but searching for a product by reference from the front end can take anywhere from 2 seconds to over 30. Doing the same search from the admin side is always fast. I can search for a product on the front end and while I am waiting, I can switch over to the admin and do the same search. The product appears almost right away on the admin but the front end is still waiting. Very puzzling. Henry. -
We have constantly struggled with our PS 1.6 performance since we launch our site about 18 months ago. One minute response is good and the next the store response time is absolutely terrible. We started with 1&1 Hosting but moved to a VPS hosting package from A2 Hosting about a year ago. A2 has been very responsive in trying to get the performance issues resolved but fixes seem to only work for a few days and then the slow responses come back. Before we throw in the towel on Prestashop completely we thought we would reach out to the community to see if anyone else has had similar issues. We are currently running Prestashop 1.6.1.17. We are using the IQIT Warehouse Theme with Mega Menu. We have other 3rd party modules to handle payment and shipping. Problem: Javascript not always loading If we have the performance option "Move Javascript to the end" enabled, the front end pages to do not work properly.... sometimes. The menu will not work and neither will the product carousels. Refresh the page and it usually works fine. Turn off this performance option and the pages display fine but the page takes longer to appear since the Javascript has to load. We have a page cache module from JPresta and it recommends moving JS to the end but then we have the load issue. Has anyone come across something similar to what we are experiencing? Thanks for any and all feedback. Henry

Error Message In Cart When Adding Product
A Bit of Home replied to richard2011's topic in General topics
Did anyone find a solution to this problem? I have the same issue. -
I am running v1.6.1.8 and fairly new to PS (we created store in September). I have come across a problem that I knew would happen at some point. When 2 different customers have the same product in their cart, the one that completes checkout first gets it. That's fine and the way it should be. The second customer eventually goes to the checkout and sees an error message that an item they have ordered in no longer available and they cannot proceed. The problem is that with our store, the customer can usually have a dozen or more products in their cart and the error message does not give them a clue as to what item it is. Also, it may not be that the item is not available at all. You get the same error if there is just not enough to fill the original quantity put in the basket. For example, there are 3 Widgets in stock, customer 1 orders 1 Widget and customer 2 orders all 3 Widgets. Customer 1 checks out first leaving only 2 Widgets. Customer 2 gets the error message and has no idea what product is the problem and then just gives up. You lose a whole order because of 1 item. Have I not set something up properly or is this the way PS works? Any advice or comments appreciated. Thanks Henry
