Email problems - [solved]

Hi guys,

 

I just installed prestashop on a clients web space.

 

Now i am trying to enable emails, but everytime i configure it and try to send the test mail, all i get is the following error:

Error: Please check your configuration

Expected response code(s) [250] but got response []

 

You guys have any idea what might be the reason for this?

 

The hosting provider is green.ch

Are you using mail() or smtp to send your email?

After following this guide, the mail() method is working, which it did not before.

Hi Fred it works now, I had followed the instructions of Presto Chageo http://www.presto-changeo.com/en/content/9-fix-email-problems  

And it still didn't work until I added the email address for the ReturnPath

 

So now the Prestashop email option Use PHP mail() function. Recommended; works in most cases works again. 

 

$this->setReturnPath("[email protected]");
$this->setTo();
$this->setFrom("[email protected]"); 

 

Just wondering why it was working fine for 3 years and all of sudden not anymore... Is it something that the host company OVH did on their servers that affected my emails?
